Best Sangria Recipe?

We're going to the beach in about a week and each couple has to cook a themed dinner one night.  Our theme is Mexican and we want to make sangria.  I was wondering if anyone has an amazing sangria recipe?

Thanks,

Sarah

Re: Best Sangria Recipe?

  • I have two one takes longer than the other

    Sangria (6-7days)

1 Bottle of brandy, Fresh citrus fruit, 1 bag of sugar, 1 box of wine. Combine the brandy sugar and fruit, let it sit some where cold for 3 days (stirring once a day) on day 4 add the box of wine and let sit some where cold for 3 days.

    Sangria

Get a bottle of merlot (whatever brand) mix in lime juice and sugar add as much sugar and lime juice as you'd like add fresh limes chill and it should be ready to serve in 2-3 hours

  • i recently had a housewarming party and served white sangria that people loved.

    - 1 bottle white wine (sauv blanc or pinot grigio is best)

    - 1/2 bottle peach schnapps

    - stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums)

    - mix together (no ice) and chill in the fridge

in another container soak raspberries (as many as you want) in peach schnapps. mix them in at the end.

i chose not to mix in ice so it wouldn't melt. i served the sangria over ice and topped with a sparkling flavored water. (we have a local grocery store that sells a "peach raspberry" flavor) you can also use some of the sparkling flavored sodas from target or just sparkling water.

  • I use frozen fruit (mangos, straberries, peaches, pineapple) and a whatever fresh fruit I have on hand (kiwi, something citrus). I use about 1 cup of Contreau and 1/2 cup lemoncello.  Mix with 2 bottles of wine (I usually use white and something fruit flavored; If I use a dry red or white I'll add some simple syrup) and top with sparkling water (either Pelligrino on hand or something fruit flavored).
  • I made this last year for a Mexican-themed BBQ. It was really delicious (even more delicious if you add some white rum! Smile)
