Has anyone spent time in Lincoln City? I've only really driven through. My mom and uncles are coming to visit in September and we are going to spend a night on the coast after a few days at Crater Lake. Lincoln City is 5.5 hours from Crater Lake yet not too far from PDX for the return home the next day. My mom and one uncle have already done Tilamook north on the coast.
What is there to do? We would only be there 1 day/night.
Re: Lincoln City recs?
If you can, Inn at Spanish Head is beautiful. The hotel is in the side of a bluff, with every room having an ocean view. When I was there last, they wrote messages in the sand every morning for the guests to see. We won a glass ball when we were there last!
Another piece of advice is to google vacation rentals. My husband and I did a "mini-moon" after we got married and took our actual honeymoon in Hawaii. We rented a condo for a few days, and saved money by cooking some meals in the condo. It was beach front, and actually had a hot tub on the deck, on the beach. Having a glass of wine, sitting in the hot tub, as the sun set on the coast was amazing.
As for things to do, there is the casino...which is a big draw for some people. There are tons of great shops, you just have to drive or walk around and you'll run into cute kite shops, or there is a great Christmas store there.
