Where should I advertise my business?

I need advertising on a small budget. What ad space is most effective for you?

It is an online retail store but has a local focus. I hesitate to go with the QC Times because I'm not sure I have ever -- or ever would -- saw an ad there and then went to the computer to look it up.

I'm thinking best options would be QC Times online only, Radish Magazine (kinda same issue as Times, but much more targeted audience), or Google AdWords. Which would you be most likely to notice? Others I haven't thought of?

Re: Where should I advertise my business?

  • Are there any family friendly events coming up? Eg, could put an ad in one of their brochures/programs.

Partnering up with the Children's Museum? Ad in the Parks & Rec seasonal program booklet? What kind of freebie magazines are at Hy-Vee or other stores, besides the Real Estate booklets? (The Peoria Numero comes to mind... a guide for cultural events/things in the area... there has to be something QC oriented. http://numeropublishing.com/index.html )

I agree that the QC Times is out... I rarely read the paper in print, and never click on the ads online. Google Adwords is a good idea.

I'm trying to think of things that green families might be at. There's not a HUGE green movement in the QC at the present time, so it makes it harder for ya.

    Best of luck to ya!
