RI nestie visting MIA next month...suggestions pls.

HI ladies,

I am going to be visiting Miami in September w/my hubby and 2 1/2 yr old son.

Can you recommend any places to definitely see while we are there?

We may have a sitter for one night, so any good restaurants that are not super pricey would also be nice.

We are staying in the Brickell Area.

Thanks!

  • Check out ILoveMiamiSpice.com for restaurants.  I think it goes through the end of Spetember.  Basically a bunch of restaurants throughout the Miami area offer a set pirce menu for lunch and dinner.  On our Bump board someone recommended Por Fin, Senora Martinez and Ortanique (not sure of the spelling on this one).  I know that Emeril's is on the list as is Capital Grille - both great restaurants that tend to be pricey, but during the Miami Spice promotion lunch is $25/person and dinner is $35/person (includes appetizer/entree/dessert).

Though I haven't been in the Brickell area in a while, check out Mary Brickell Village - there are a few restaurants there.  Also, Cafe Sambal in the Madarin Oriental.

  • The District in Downtown is also nice. There are some restaurants you can bring the baby to! Also Bayside Mall is close and thats another fun place to go where you can bring your baby. :) I agree with PP check out ilovemiamispice!

  • Jungle Island and the Miami Children's Museum are right near each other if you wanted something fun to do with your son during the day. Also definitely check out Miami Spice like the others suggested... there are some great options for dining.
