Need help with a letter for work

I'm looking for some help with a letter I have to write for one of my classes at the beginning of the school year. I teach an elective that is part of a wheel. The kids have me, Spanish, and music for 12 weeks each and rotate through each over the course of the year. This year there was an increase in band enrollment so they made an extra section of band. This means that one period of my elective will be a semester instead of 12 weeks(the other 3 periods will still be 12 weeks). The kids will have a semester of my class and a semester of spanish, they will not get the music rotation(in reality this is good for them because the music teacher is not very nice, but I can't mention that of course).

I'm trying to think of the best way to word this so that admin doesn't get phone calls from irrate parents about their child missing music. I'm going to mention how this will allow us to delve deeper into some topics and do more projects. We will also be able to read a novel. Admin left it up to me to write the note(they are crazy busy right now) and I'm stuck on wording it the right way. Any thoughts or tips? I will be sharing this letter with the Spanish teacher.
