Does anyone else feel like the wedding was sooo long ago already? I look at the pictures and think, wow, that was such a long time ago! It hasn't even been 3 months yet! haha i guess the newness of marriage fades fast. Anyone else feeling this way?
Re: old married couple?
I felt like DH and I were married long before the actual wedding. We moved in together after 7 months of dating, got engaged after a 1yr & 3 months together and bought a home last summer.
When we bought our home last August, we combined all of our income and we've shared joint accounts since that point. So I feel like we've already been living like a married couple for a year already even though the wedding itself was only in May! And now we've adopted a dog and are TTC so it feels like we're just continuing to build our family and lives together.
I love it. I wonder how we'll be when we're 70.
We didn't live together before, but to me it does feel like its been longer than 3 months. I can't wait to get home in the evenings to see HH though, I hate being away from him during the day.
I'm so jealous. My husband travels for work and is gone Mon - Thur and it's tough to be apart. For the first 2 years of our relationship it was great b/c he was on a client that was located the next town over so even though he worked long hours, he was still able to be home every night. Now he's on a client on the other side of the country and he's back to travelling. (He's a consultant).
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I would hate if my HH had to travel. He's refuses to work night shift at his work now because he doesn't want to leave me by myself at night. I'm sure that he'll have to work a night occasionally in the future though.
I'm with ya here!! I still feel like we are a couple of crazy newlyweds!
DH and I were just talking about this on Saturday. I feel like the wedding was FOREVER ago and Sunday will be only 3 months!
We look back at pictures from the wedding and from Greece and we agree that it just feels like it was so long ago.
I want to go back to the honeymoon though. It just WASN'T long enough. It was so nice to have only one responsibility for the week and that was to enjoy ourselves. I miss it.
As far as feeling like an old married couple though... we've been working on that for a long time, too. DH moved in with me after only 4 months of dating and we've been together for 4 1/2 years. I agree with PPs that marriage doesn't feel that different for us. Which is nice.
But I DO LOVE calling him "husband". There's just something awesome about it!
