Looking at houses

I wanna see a house, but we aren't really in the market.  Do I need a realtor to set up a showing?

Re: Looking at houses

  • I would think you would. Unless they are having an open house.

  • Yes...or wait and see if they do an open house on it.

We've been looking again too and I am only doing open houses because showings kind of make the seller feel like you are really interested and it gets their hopes up...the only down side is that I have to leave a card at every open because I am an agent and I get harrassed for feedback!

  • Do they have a call number on the "for sale" sign?  Before I was "really" on the market I drove by a cute little cheap a$$ house.  I called the number and to my surprise, the owner answered.  I just said I was driving by and wanted to see the house.  I came in like 10 minutes later. Although, I if you just wanted to snoop, I would wait for a open house.

I did the parade of homes tours mostly for fun and because I liked to check out homes.  I bought one from a builder I just stopped in on.....looking back on it, it was almost at a whim.  Not "really" in the market might not mean much if the right things just happen to fall into place.
