OMG the IUD

So the string is now hanging way, way down.  I know I am driving my OB nuts, because I keep calling about it, but it hurts.  The string is very stiff, like plastic and every time I move or walk it pokes me.  And I know this is TMI but I can feel the with my hand, they are right there, almost all the way out. 

I don't think that is normal.  So either the IUD isn't in right or she didn't trim the strings.

Anyways, it is not comfortable at all and I cannot deal with the uncomfortableness all weekend.

Mine were like that at first to.  They will soften in a week or so and can be trimmed shorter.  TMI: I had them trimmed twice because depending on cervical position they were still to long.  They can trim again if necesarry

don't they usually bring back in for an u/s after a week or something to make sure it's still in place and didn't shift?

My OB does a follow up 4 weeks after placement.  I can't wait that long, the strings are like hard plastic and very, very pokey.  It hurts to sit, hurts to walk to much.  This is gonna be TMI but you should have to "search" sort of to find the strings and mine are right there, no searching at all and they are poking me like crazy.
