Spraytan?

So I know this sounds ridiculous being that we live where the sun always shines. But I have a problem getting an even tan. With the wedding coming up I want to have something really even. My dress is a strapless sweetheart cut.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go? Or any advice before getting it done? I've never done it before. I want to try it out this month or next before the wedding so I can see how I like it.

Re: Spraytan?

  • Ive done it before, but it's been a really long time. I would just recommend doing a thorough skin scrubbing before you go to help it adhere more evenly Smile

  • Are you opposed to fake baking or laying out?  I fake baked for a year or so and I was REAL tan.  Idk when your wedding is, but if you started tanning now, you'd have a nice bronze within a month or two.

I spray tanned a few times, but I was never happy with the results.  There are just certain "crevices" that do not spray tan well (and I am not talking about your bum).

  • I fake baked a while ago and ended up getting a fungus from the place, which is why I can't tan evenly anymore. Its totally gross I know, but the lesson was always ask for the bleach to wipe the bed down yourself.

When I lay out now I get splotchy around my chest area. It looks pretty crappy, well for a normal day its fine and I deal, but I want it to be as even as possible for the pictures.

  • I did body bronzing at Dolce Salon prior to my wedding and was super happy with the results! It's hand applied so it's totally even and it's just a nice bronze- looks like a super natural tan/glow!

I've heard great things about Dolce Salon for fake tan.

If you're not opposed to fake baking I went to this great place the months before my wedding called TanMax. Not sure where in the valley you are but I think they have a few locations. But what's great about them is it's only 10 bucks a month for unlimited tanning and the beds are stand up so you have much less of a chance to catch something.

  • I have spray tanned before most major events- including my wedding.  The place I went to before the wedding is closed now, but I've gone to a couple of different tanning salons.  Do a "double-dip"- you spray tan then go in a stand up bed for 8 minutes to really bake the color in. It dries quicker and last a few days longer.

It is a good idea to try it out first, that way you can learn from any mistakes.  Be very generous with the blocking lotion- goop it on your nails, coat the bottom of your feet and palms and do a thin layer on your knees, elbows and fingers.  After you tan, pat yourself dry with the provided towels- I also wipe my face.  I would rather have it pale and add bronzer to it than have a too-dark face.  Be sure to wait at least 8 hours before showering, swimming or sweating.

It took a time or two to get it right, but I never had any bad mistakes that couldn't be fixed.  I definately recommend doing it and don't be afraid to ask the person working there to explain to you exactly how to stand and operate the machine.

  • So, I posted this a second ago...but it didn't seem to take. If I have multiple posts, I apologize.

Before my wedding, bachelorette party, and boudoir session I went to Scottsdale Salon and Spray Tan. I thought they did a really good job, of course it was the only place that I've ever gone. Each time I got an even tan and it lasted for about a week (lightened every day of course). At my wedding several people commented how nice my tan looked and when I told them it was a spray tan they were really surprised.

I was recommended this place by other girls that used them when I was on theknot.com.

  • I have done all kinds of spray tans. My favorite just for your average day to day glow is the versa spray tan at Dolce salon and spa. For my wedding though I wanted a flawless tan and was worried about stains on my dress so I decided to try out

I could not have been happier and I would totally recommend Stephanie for your wedding day glow. If you got to FB and "Like" them you will get a deal for $29 instead of $45, but honestly I would have paid whatever she charged I was so happy with it. Good luck! Congrats!

  • I spray tan all the time. Tanning beds are the devil.

I usually go to Pro Tan, or any other tan places that has a mystic, or otherwise. As long as you do it properly (just out of the shower, with NO lotions on etc.) you should have a good result!
