iPad

So I'm in school and my laptop is getting a little heavy to carry around with all my books SO i was debating between one of those mini computers or an ipad. Any suggestions?

Re: iPad

  • What would you be using the computer for?

  • I definitely would go with a netbook. Really small [10-11 inch screens], light, portable, and with all the options your desktop gives you. iPads are definitely thin and lightweight but you're basically paying for a large screen with a phone OS. Price wise, netbooks are much cheaper  [300-500] while the lowest end iPad starts at 500. Also, you can't run multiple applications on the iPad. Basically, if you want the options of a computer [ie. want to open PPTS, take notes, & have your downloaded journal article open at the same time] I would recommend the netbook [Asus & Acers are the most poopular I belive]. If you just want to have a sort of e-reader type of device then go ahead and purchase the iPad. Hope this helps!
