Making a Will....

My slackass has still not gotten around to making a will, and I'm thinking that I should do it before school starts and I get busy again.

Are there websites that give you a template to follow?  I don't have a lot in terms of valuables - just my house, really.  I don't think it would be too complicated.

Also - what about health care - like if I wanted a DNR, or donate myself to a medical school after death - would that go in the will, or a separate document?

 TIA!

Re: Making a Will....

  • I use the U of M's Extension Services Health Care Directive for your end of life medical care type stuff.  You can google it.

As for the will, I think that you can find templates online but I've never done it so I'm not sure where to look.

  • If you would like to donate your body to science I know the U of M has something to fill out.  I'm sure you can find it on the website.  If not I have a friend in med school and I could find you a copy.

Edit:  You would be donating your body to the medical school for anotomy education for 1st year med students and dental students.

Correct - my SIL is a doctor, and she mentioned to me that med schools have a hard time getting cadavers....so I decided a while ago that I wanted to do that.  The question is, WHICH school?  I attended both UW and UM, so maybe a coin toss will decide....
