DH's parents bought us a van (used and in great shape). We are going to pick it up this weekend. Believe me, words cannot express how grateful we are because they helped us avoid a car payment. Still car payment free! YAY!
We asked them to help us find a van, but we had no idea they were going to just buy it. They won't let us pay them for it either, and insist that we save our money for the kids.
So how would you show your appreciation in this instance? I feel like we should do something, but if we spend a lot of money we'll likely get yelled at.
They actually joked that they should have put the condition on it that we bring the kids up often when they're born. I have no problem with that anyway.
Would it be dumb to bring them some baked goods or some other small token of appreciation? I feel like we should do something. They're just so damn generous!
Re: How to say Thank You
my read shelf:
I like the idea of giving them a note from the kids.
I like helping them with a home project too. We'll have to talk to them tomorrow and see if there is anything we can assist them with. Otherwise we can definitely plan a nice dinner in the next few weeks.
We are very lucky we have such nice family.
