Hey Ladies!
I've been MIA for awhile, But... I need some advice.
I am 8 weeks PG. and I have been getting sick at night, mostly after meals or right after i take my vitamins. All the sudden tonight we were out to dinner with the IL's and when we got home I got sick (no surprise to me). But here's the kicker...My DH tonight said "its probably all in your head!" My first thought...HOW THE HECK COULD YOU SAY THAT TO A PG WOMEN!? Second thought...is it really all in my head..or is it just totally out of my control?!
So if any of you Wisco Mommas have any advice that could help this situation it would be greatly appreciated
Re: all in my head?!
First of all, congratulations!
Morning sickness is caused by the increase of hormones, the effects the hormones have on your GI tract as well as a heightened sense of smell.
When do you take your PNV? I've found that it helps to take it at night. Other things that worked for me:
B6/Unisom combo before bed.
Sea Bands
Preggo Pops/Lemon Drops/Lychee Candy
It's definitely not all in your head. That being said, when you feel it coming on, try to relax, take deep breaths or get some fresh air. Relaxing isn't exactly easy to do when you feel like you're going to hurl.
Good luck & I hope you feel better soon!
THANK YOU!!! I've been taking my PNV right before bed but since thats when i tend to get sick as well i was thinking about trying a different time, although i seem to manage to keep it down so who knows!
what is unisom and sea bands?? I have tried lemon drops but the sugar got to me lol but at work during the day spearmint gum has done pretty good

Sea Bands use acupressure as a way of relieving nausea.
Talk to your doctor about the B6/Unisom combo, for some reason the active ingredient in Unisom, Doxylamine, combined with B6 helps to relieve morning sickness.
Ginger is another thing you could try, as it is a natural remedy for alleviating nausea, look for crystallized ginger, or ginger gum, something along those lines.
Sounds like your DH needs a swift kick to the balls. If he cries, tell him it's all in his head.
Try eating smaller portions more frequently. I had to take my PN right before bed or they'd give me wicked cramps and sometimes come right back up. Don't let yourself get too hungry, so keep an emergency granola bar in your purse. Sucking on candy is supposed to help too.
I hope the MS is over for you soon!
