Do you have a rain barrel?
I want to get one as a gift for someone, but I could use some recs..
Anything I should know or look for? How are the plastic ones that look like terracotta planters?
And has anyone seen the ones at Sam's Club (I heard there is one there)?
Re: Do you have a rain barrel?
We have a plastic one, but not the terra cotta plastic one. Here is a link to the one from Sams Club:

I really like ours!

We have two of these:

They're great and super easy to install.
Our water barrel was made from a giant syrup drum. Personally, we like our almost clear one because we can tell where the water level is--I'm not sure if the terracotta ones have a gauge or something, but I'd look for that if we were to buy a less utilitarian one (or one to give as a gift).
We have a large garden so we use ours to water those plants, along with whatever outdoor, non drinking purposes we may have. Clean our compost bucket (the one we keep inside), wash car, rinse off bikes, etc etc
I think that's a terrific gift, btw!!
They don't, and that's my only complaint. Once they start to fill and bulge, it's impossible to get the top off so I have no clue how full they are.
