I've done them a couple different ways. What's your no fail way?
Re: How do you make ribs?
I boil them for 30 minutes, then coat them in BBQ sauce and cook them in the oven for 1-2 hours, basting every 20 minutes or so. I have also done BBQ instead of oven.
I have also done no-boiling at all, just straight into the crock pot with brown beans on the bottom (maple flavoured), sauce on the ribs, on low for 4-5 hours.
both of those sound great. I forgot to look in here before I actually started today.
I broiled mine and then now have them in the oven with a bbq rub for a bit and I plan on finishing them on the bbq.
BTW Evan is ridiculously adorable!
My no fail? Let DH do it...
He smokes them on his special weber kettle bbq. They're fabulous but all I do is eat them.
Lol.
As long as you have a system that works don't mess with it! I on the other hand spent way too long in the kitchen cooking these ribs today. But it was worth it because they were very good.
I rub them with salt and pepper, then broil them for 30 minutes.
I pop them in the crock pot for 3 hours on high with a bottle of Tony Roma's BBQ sauce and chopped onion that I've cooked in olive oil.
Then I take them out and grill them med-high for about 5 minutes.
Trim the fat. Broil on each side for 15 min. Throw them in the crock pot before work on low with a tiny bit of bbq sauce, chopped celery, carrots and onion.
Come home and enjoy. They are fall off the bone type of ribs.
I can not cook decent ribs on the BBQ for the life of me. They always end up tough.
