The Mommy Marketplace

I've been cleaning out the kiddo's old clothing and gear for various consignment sales.  Best Dressed for Less in Burlington and  Just 4 Kids are already on my list.  I just learned about a new one called Mommy Marketplace which takes place in Oct in Medford.  Thought I'd share it with you.  There's info on my blog;

Anyone else signed/signing up for this one?

Re: The Mommy Marketplace

  • I tried a consignment shop in Pitman once (KidStuff I think?) and I thought it was such a waste of time. I had to iron all the clothes and hang them on white (only white!!!!) hangers and could only bring in 10 items/day.

    In the end I made $12 on about $225 of Gymboree and Baby Gap clothes.

    Now I just give them away to friends and sell my big stuff (double jogger, travel system, swing) on CraigsList.

    Good luck at your sale -- hope you make out better than me!

  • Looks good! Thanks for letting us know. I may try to go and pick some things up, but that depends on how myself and the new little one are doing (since the date of the sale is just two weeks past my due date). My sister in law makes a killing at consignment sales in Northern Virginia. If this one sticks (sounds fairly new), I would probably sign up to sell at a future sale.

    I sold at the Just 4 Kids one last year and made a decent return.  Most of the stuff I sold were clothing gifts I just didn't like and others that he outgrew before using.  My new with tags clothes are probably what made me the most money.

    I was thinking about doing some bigger stuff on CL.  I always look at CL, but never sold or bought anything from there and I guess that lack of experience is why I just haven't done it yet.
