Here in Australia...the Cancer Council. I've had several relatives lose their battle with cancer, so it's very near and dear to my heart.

Would have to say to say both, my dh & I, who are huge music lovers, totally refuse to give up on our music, that is on vinyl. His parents always ask us, as we stuff stored in there basement, when are we going to get rid of our crates of records? Our answer, never!

I've gotten better in that I haven't been saving a bunch of crap recently but I can't seem to let go of the crap I've been saving since college. I have things like wrist bands from the time we were let into a bar even though we were under age, a McDonalds toy I got on a road trip with my college roommate, old jewelry for my body piercings I no longer have (I know, gross). Every time I move I keep telling myself to get rid of these things but I JUST CAN'T!

I'm not really into the tie your shirt at the waist with a belt thing. I used to think that I only didn't like leggings if the shirt wasn't long enough, but I realized that I only like leggings if both the shirt is long AND there are long boots to cover it (instead of flats, revealing the ankle and/or not covering enough of the legging-ed legs). So basically, leggings are only okay by me if only the area between the lower thighs and upper calves are showing, but no more than that. Go figure...

I try not to be. I usually save all kinds of keepsakes (the nametag on my dorm room in college, christmas cards from friends, the wrapping paper MH used to wrap my engagement ring, etc.). It's a bit ironic since they come from here, but, Uggs are the epitome of bad taste in Australia...and yet I want a pair.
I used to loathe them, but Ben got some to wear (only indoors!) for this current winter and they're soooo warm and toasty that I keep stealing them! So I need to get some for next winter lol!
Yeah, when I wore them, I usually kept them hidden by wearing them under my jeans. I also got another style that is a little more structured, so they don't look quite so ugg-ish.
When I was in Seattle, I self-diagnosed myself with Raynaud's Syndrome. Basically, my fingers and toes get cold really easily and turn white/purple. It was really painful and made it hard for me to do things outside when it was cold because my fingers and toes would be numb. The Uggs saved my toesies and I was finally able to go play in the snow. I wanted to get the gloves too, but they were way too expensive!
oh tell me about it. my first stop out of LAX EVERYtime is In-N-Out... mmmmm... I can't wait until December and I can get some again! Ahhh!

I don't think it counts as having pets but we are considering getting backyard hens - probably next spring so we have time to get use to them before it gets cold and the days are short (both things decrease their egg output and require some planning - like heat lamps).

A wealthy relative dies and leaves you many many monies. They stipulate in their will that you have to give half to charity and can keep the rest. What charity/charities do you pick? National Down Syndrome Society. My little cousin has downs (he is 10) and watching him grow and learn and do so many things that the "typical" child with down syndrome usually can't do amazes me. I would hope that my contribution would help other children with downs get the same opportunies as him.
Do you play any musical instruments? I nver have.
I love animals, but I don't really get why people own birds (who universally hate me) and fish (you can't cuddle them). Are there any pets that you just.don't.get? I don't get why people would want any sort of reptile. They are gross, look dry and just find boring.

I third Sweet Valley High! Did anyone watch the series when it was on briefly? Loved the books, not the show. SIDE NOTE: I got a horrible haircut back in '95... my mom said it was a "layered look"... it was a mullet, no question about it. Anyway, I was so upset that I hid in my closet with a baseball hat on and read Sweet Valley High the entire day.
And oh yes, the Little House books! And the Ramona books!

1. pack rat-not really my mom, and husband are pack rats and it drives me crazy!!! i do however hoarde my precious shoe collection

5. i have to chime in that i really like my skinny jeans-i wear them with uber high heels and a cute top-skinny jeans are all about the tops. fashion trends i don't like-high waisted jeans, sailor pants, mid calf skirts-just not a flattering length-

I tried Lost and got lost after missing, like, 1 episode the first season. I can't stand Idol or So You Think You Can Dance, yet I am a devoted watcher of America's Next Top Model. I have no shame.
What were your favorite childhood books? Besides the sameful admittance of SVH and other "teen" series, John Bellairs (e.g. The House with the Clock in its Walls - Johnny! Plus, who doesn't love Edward Gory sketches?), someone reminded me of Encyclopedia Brown, all the Ramona books and Socks!...

Seinfeld was okay, but I never loved it.

I try to follow the Clean Sweep rule (if you don't use/display it, don't keep it). But there are a few rubbermaid tubs under the bed with stuff I never use. They're mostly things that were given to me as gifts. I feel so bad throwing them away, so I keep them around and tell myself "Someday I'll do something with this".

I'm terrified of birds, and I don't know why anyone would want to own a lizard or a snake. I don't think they're gross, but you can't play with them and they're boring to watch. I don't get it. At least fish tanks are calming.

I save papers that I think might be important and they never are. I save newspapers to go to recycling but it takes us forever to get there. I save the original boxes that things come in so that when we move we can pack "correctly"... I'm sure MH wouild have more to add!
