  • Not much. Wink But that's just me.

    What have you done lately?

  • We try differant restaurants, we've been to the dog park with our furbaby, movies, we've walked around the bookstore a couple times... that's really been it.

This was a question I had, also.  What are you guys into?

You could go mini golfing, go to a Whitecaps game, go regular golfing.  Hmm...lets see, what else?

We both enjoy art, we like music, we like hockey (him more than me, but it's growing on me), wine and cheese...

  • come out to the west coast and visit holland, sagautak or grand haven.  there are some good farmer markets in the area or skip the middle man and do a u-pick.

if you are looking for a date night, go to a comedy show at the bob. it's my favorite date night activity!

there are some good walking trails in the area that you could walk/bike/rollerblade on.  there are wineries in the area that are a fun saturday activity.

highschool/college football games should be starting up in a few weeks.  i think thats all i have right now :)

  • I know it's not going 'out', but we've been trying a lot of new recipes and wines lately.  We'll pick out a new recipe, go shopping for the groceries, and pick out a bottle of wine to share and spend the evening cooking and drinking wine.  Even though we're at home, it's a really good time.

You guys could come over to our house and drink wine with us for something to do Stick out tongue

Haha sounds good.  Great ideas ladies.  Keep them coming if you think of any.  I think we are going to try a few of these.

I wish we'd known you IRL sooner... :) that sounds IDEAL.

  • Meijer Gardens is always fun. Right now on Monday nights there is Jazz at the Zoo (at John Ball Zoo). There is only two weeks left. On Wednesday nights there is Blues on the Mall downtown. Check out GRNow.com. Just click on a date on the calendar and it gives you a rundown of what's happening. :o)

Does the GRAM still do wine and apps on Friday nights? I know they did something like that at the old location.

We do a lot of this, too.  You guys could just rotate through all of our houses for dinner and wine.  Stick out tongue

We also go to Holland or Grand Haven a lot to shop and have dinner.

  • Before having the baby our usual activities were going mini golfing (either at Strikers or Craigs Cruisers), bowling at Spectrum or checking out a new restaurant.
  • The bike or walking path at White Pine Trails through Rockford

    The beach at Milinium Park

There are free concerts at GRAM on Friday nights during August

Frederik Meijer Gardens is having free concerts (with pirce of admission) on Tuesday nights now through maybe Sept?

Walk around downtown (through downtown and along the river)

Have you hit up all the different musuems around town

We used to play a lot of board games, esp when it is nice and we can sit outsdie and play them on the patio.

In the winter we used to like doing puzzles

    Wine tasting

Farmer's Market = There are a ton of them all over the county

  • There's a decent amount of live music at the bars in the area too.  You can check grnow.com for events going on each weekend.  I echo the Whitecaps (in the winter Griffins), bowling, walking around downtown or any of the many trails in the area.  Within an hour drive there's the lakeshore too - Holland, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Saugatuck, etc.
  • Thanks everyone for the tips!!

  • In East GR there is a place called "Rose's Express" (like Rose's restaurant, but for take out)- DH and I like to get a sandwich from there and then go sit at Collin's Park on Reed's Lake to eat and watch the sailboats.  We also often bring a blanket and read for a while in the shade- so relaxing.

Every once and a while we go to Billy's Lounge for live music and drinks which is always fun.  Sunday nights are 80's nights which are a blast to go to if you like dancing! Especially if you can get a few friends to join you.

  • Oh I also just thought of one more: there is a tea place called Global Infusion in GR that has a whole wall of loose leaf teas for sale.  They have a small sitting area and you can bring one of the canisters w/ tea to the counter to have a cup made.  It is fun b/c you get the whole experience of smelling all the teas and choosing your favorite etc.  Plus they have some cute things for sale in there as well (it is a real natural/fair trade/hand crafted type place).
