Hello everyone! My name is Cathy and my husband and I just got married on July 31st. I would like to hear some ideas about where to meet new couple friends. We need some people to hang out with! We like to do pretty much everything. We love playing board games and card games. I need your help! Thank you in advance!
Re: Need couple friends!
Hey!
That is Definately a tough one. I just moved to Birmingham almost two years ago... still trying to weed through people to find good friends. And to find a couple that both of the guys and girls get along and wanna be friends is just tricky. I say... let it happen naturally - invite people over, go to friends' houses, and see who clicks with who! Good luck!!! We love playing games too. Agricola is a great board game!!!
Hi,
I am new to this board. My husband and I just moved to Huntsville and am having a hard time making friends here. One part of our troubles is that we are both so busy it is hard to get out to meet new people. Good luck!
PS. I really hope this board picks up on activity! Anyone know of any other boards for Huntsville/Madison ladies?
Hi! My Husband and I just got married on April 24. We moved to Fultondale for a job opportunity and we do not know anyone in the area. We are also looking for new people to hang out with. It is hard to find young couples that appreciate a good board game! HAHA
So have you had any luck with meeting new people?
We got married shortly after you guys. May 3rd.
Beacause of the board game comment...I assume the two or you are over the bar scene as well.
My DH and I were laughing the other day because we passed a bar we used to frequent and I asked him if he wanted to go and we both just groaned. We were looking forward to getting home and curling up on the couch with our dog to watch a movie and have some hot chocolate.
It's amazing that a wedding and a few years makes you go from shots and dancing all night to hot chocolate and snuggling. I wouldn't go back to those days for anything.
And I agree it's hard to make couple friends to hang out with. I moved here about 10 years ago so I don't have friends I grew up with. And we have trouble finding friends that dont want to just get drunk! It's weird because its like from one extreme to the other. Now I don't want to offend anyone here...but it seems the couples are either so religious that that's all they talk about or they still act like 21 year olds. And we are 32. And now the couples that we did find and enjoyed hanging out with are now DIVORCED! So that sucks.
If you live in the Mongomery area and enjoy camping, hiking, cookimg, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, fishing, playing cards or games, and boating you should message me. Because all of our "COUPLE friends" are now single!
I can't say that we have a lack of friends. We both moved to Birmingham separately from Mississippi about 7 years ago and have a large group - but are always looking for new friends!
I say we have a Dinner night in Birmingham.
