DH's 26th birthday is next month. I really want to do something extra special for him that will really show how much I love and appreciate him. I don't have a lot of $ to spend though. The last 2 years we've foregone bday gifts, but I plan on doing some type of gift this year...
Anywho, I would love to hear what you have done to make your spouse's bday special? Hopefully I'll get some good ideas from that :-)
TIA!

Re: Birthday Ideas
I just had a surprise party for my husband. I got few of his old college/ high school friends he hadn?t seen in a while and most of his currently close friends together. It got pulled off wonderfully and my husband was so excited and had many nice things to say to me about the efforts. I planned him a ?just like college party? and incorporated many of his favorite college party games (beer pong, Smash Brothers, cards?.) and his college BFFs.
Another friend of mine?s (ex)girlfriend was planning a "kind of" surprise party. She wanted to get a dinner and game night all planned for him and tell him a couple days before (because he doesn?t like surprises). The invites she sent out which included information about why she wanted to do something extra special for him were so touching I wanted to give him a copy the day of.
I think surprise parties are special events and it shows your love for the person that you are willing to put that much effort into them and to want to surround them with their favorite people.
I bought an 18 gallon keg of Keystone (mostly a joke because it was what him and his college friends had at all of their parties). It was $80, there was 14 of us and we didn?t even drink half (maybe because it was a bad beer and there were a few bottled options too). You could get a slightly upgraded beer and I bet still keep it around $100. I also bought Buffalo Wild Wings, I got around 112 wings and they were $108. We had lots of extras. I also bought some chips, salsa, beer, hard liquor, breakfast food (my husband always loved to cook his friends breakfast after a night of drinking), frozen pizzas; I raided my moms fridge/freezer for food/drinks she wasn?t going to use before the expiration. I bought party supplies from Party America. I borrowed tables for cards and beer pong. Over all I would think I spent $360 and 9 hours planning/setting up. You could do it much cheaper if you cut out some of the hard liquor, Party America supplies and the BWW.
