My one and only ISP at my new place only offers a max speed of 256 Kbps. Needless to say, the service agent was surprised and I was dismayed. He said he put in a request for them to notify me as soon as they offer something better. Despite the large billboard a few miles from my house proclaiming their top high speeds, that same company hasn't quite made it to my street sections yet apparently.
I need service that will allow two laptops and my TV to be connected wirelessly. We do instant Netflix and work from home a lot.
Do I have zero options? I looked at satellite but the speeds don't seem that great. There's broadband via cell providers, but it looks like limited speeds for a high price as well, and I'm not sure whether that would only be good for 1 laptop at a time?
Please school me in my options. I'm sure they're limited to nonexistent. I would probably have thought twice about this location if I'd known there was no high speed internet readily available.
Thanks!
Re: No high speed internet - what do I do?!
I am trying to think of that high-speed company that always advertises about being in the country and enjoying it but having city-like luxuries such as high-speed internet.
FWIW, I lived in an area like you are right now. Our only option for sure was dial-up. It sucked, so you have my sympathy!
Does this help you any?
