If so, does it annoy the fuuck out of you?  Why or why not?

Re: Poll: Does your H play video games?

  • HA! Yes, DH plays video games. He mostly plays war games (online) and football (ps3). He wears his headphones on the computer which totally helps, but there is a LOT of interesting, LOUD language in our house when he is playing. Since we don't have a TON of time together though bc we work different shifts, he is really good at not playing when we're off together which is nice.

Personally for me, I can't see wasting so much time on it but... I guess I do nest and FB a lot.... ;)

  • DH will go through phases.  He doesn't play so much when I am home now, but a couple years ago he was obsessed with Grand Theft Auto and would get soooooo pissed off at that game.  Needless to say, I spent most my time in the bedroom bc he never put the xbox controller down.

We have a Wii now so he likes all the Mario games which he is naturally good at.  So I don't mind him playing now, because he doesn't use his real "cute" language.

  • He used to play RockBand all the time - and that annoyed the shet out of me.  More because I heard the same songs OVER and OVER again, than the fact that he was gaming.  I'm just happy he's not a Halo player or whatever the other "big" games are right now.

Now, he mainly plays those flash games online for a break from work - I'm cool with it since it's not like he's crazy about it.

  • Yep... he plays World of Warcraft and some other PC games.

It doesn't bother me at all... since I do too, but I also play console games, and he doesn't.

Also, online gaming is how we met, so I can't complain about it any.  LOL

  • I let little things really bother me, particularly gaming.  It is easily one of my biggest pet peeves; when I see a grown man playing video games, I am just utterly repulsed (well my grown man, not like other random guys, lol)

Maybe I'm a just in a mood right now.

Or maybe its because we have one TV in this house, and when he decides to take it over with COD I get real, REAL pissed.

Either way, Casey is playing some stupid game and I'm forced to work on accounting hw.  What a doucher.

    LOL! Major suck-fest!

Does he have the little head piece? You gotta love when you hear tiny ten year old voices screaming over those things! My 3rd graders talk about playing those games ALL. THE. TIME. And I always think in my head "What if they are playing MH?!" = P

He does, but he doesn't use it.  My biggest complaint is that we are both trying to relax after a long day, and when he takes over the one TV, I don't get to do a whole lot of vegging.  lol

  • Yes, but I play with him as well. We play Guitar Hero together and some baseball game and soccer.

It doesnt bother me when he plays alone. Sometimes, I dont feel like it, so he will. We have another tv, so I can always watch tv in our room.

  • Yep, he plays and no it doesnt bug me. I figure, there are worse things he could be doing. When he plays, I'll go read a book or go online or something. Worse case, I'll get a good nights sleep.

Maybe you guys could look for another TV? Not anything fancy, but something cheap you could put into another room?

  • Yes he does.  Often we play together- I <3 Fallout 3.  I also find that sometimes after a crazy bad long day I like to play Nazi Zombies on COD... it's brainless and take out aggression, lol, it's quality time together!  It normally doesn't bother me, it only bother's me when he plays for like 10 hours straight on a Saturday when I'm out- then talks about just wanting to get to relax Sunday instead of doing chores...but we've pretty much worked it out.

Like Jes said, there are totally worse things he could do.

  • He plays video games(we have a ps3, xbox 360, and a wii). No, it doesn't usually bother me.

I play games with him sometmes like rock band/guitar hero/beatles rock band, and fighting games(I'm awesome at those and those are usually the only ones I can beat him at)

  • He doesn't play video games really.  He will play at friends houses but not really at home.  All we have is a WII and I use it a lot more than he does.

  • Oh gosh, if I had only known the extent of CJ's gaming when we first met... well I would still be with him but it does drive me banna snadwhich sometimes mostly the volume.  He just like to have the volume so loud and he plays these shoot them up kind of games so i am sure the neighbors think we are having WWIII in our living room.  I think his current fav is Red Dead Redemption and it is just so graphic.

He built his own gaming computer and has this massive screen to play them on.  Computer games he has played are Aion, WOW, Lineage 2, Age of Cohnan.

So all together it is the wii, ps3 and computer games, but the only thing that really gets under my skin would be how loud he has to have it "to get the real feel of it babe" lol

  • no thank god. but i am annoyed i got him a playstation and a few games a couple years ago and it didn't get much use. we have a wii and we've used it like, twice. i'd like to play sometimes, but with his crappy work schedule it just doesn't really work out

That's halarious! But I'm so sorry Jenn!!

I'm glad (especially after reading everyone's responses!) that H doesn't game at all. We were actually talking about it yesterday, and he said that before he met me (a few years before), he got really into World of Warcraft, but played it like EVERY waking minute, so he eventually got rid of it cuz he was so addicted. So he stays away from most video games. We have an old-school Nintendo, but mostly I play it! We wouldn't mind having a wii, but I don't know if we'd play it enough to make it worth it! Oh, and I do agree with a couple other girls, there ARE worse things the husbands could choose to do!!

  • We have a wii that I think I play more than than DH.  He plays a couple different coumputer games.  Mostly at night, after I've gone to bed (he's a total night owl) or when we're both kind of doing our own things.  I don't mind at all.

LOL it is cool, Before CJ met me i think it was way worse, when we were staying at his parents house for a few months before we got into the house, he said his mom used to bring him dinner while he played his games. and my response to that was "I am so glad you have those fond memories, because I won't be doing that..." lol

  • No, thank God. I HATE video games.

Ditto this exactly, only it was Guitar Hero instead of Rock Band, ha. He has a PS3 but rarely plays it. Every once in a while he'll get into a kick where he'll play something a lot for a couple days, but it's pretty rare. I don't really care, except that the constant replaying of the video game music can be annoying and reminds me of being a kid when my brother used to play video games incessantly.

  • he really doesn't, we don't have a gaming system.

We have friends that have a super nintendo (so awesome) and he loves to play when we are there.

I mean really though, he doesn't play any games. it's not his style.

I spend way more time on FB /TB and he usually reads

  • alex goes thro phases of playing everyday and not playing for a long time. i dont care about it b/c i just find something else to do. a while back he was REALLY into some airplane game on the xbox and would sit super close to the tv and have a sheet/blanket over the tv and him to concenterate better hahahahaha.

  • Yes he does and yes it annoys the f out of me!  Luckily he does not play very often, but when he does it is so annoying!  Mainly because he plays this one war game and the noises are horrible!

That's one of the reasons I love my Wii.  I have SMB from the SN downloaded on my Wii.  I only play it once in a while...but it is totally a time waster.  So fun.

There was another game I was obsessed with from SN - something about WaveRace or whatever.  You raced around on jet skiis.  There were dolphins on the course and stuff.  I loved that game!

  • i would like to download some old school games to my wii. but wii is such an effin crock. you need like 15 different controllers to play different games. what a scam! i kind of want to sell it, lol.

This! We both hate video games and the only reason why we bought a Wii was for Tiger Woods. He didn't play it as much as he thought he would, so fortunately we were able to sell it to a friend : )
