Holy Yummy!

I was at Whole Foods today (which I don't frequent b/c their prices are so high) and I saw that they were selling a ready-made Orzo w/ Spinach and Feta salad.  Instead of paying $7.99(!!) a pound, I bought the ingredients and made it myself.  Yum Yum!!  Anyone else make anything good recently??  I've been cooking up a storm while at home (and trying to find a new job)!  :)

Re: Holy Yummy!

  • I agree that sometimes buying the ingredients yourself is more cost effective than buying it already prepared.

As for what I've made recently, I had a Food Network Chef dinner Saturday and taught a Chinese Steamed Buns class yesterday. Both events with recipes & pics are reflected in my food blog (link below).

  • Wow Joelen, you've made some amazing things!  I'm certainly NOT a cook, so putting together said recipe above was a major feat!  lol  I'm going to aspire to try some of the recipe's you have listed  :)  Thanks for the inspiration!

  • One of my favorite things to do is go to Whole Foods and look at the salad bar for ideas! ?Still haven't mastered the Basil Chile Broccoli tofu...
  • Whole foods is YUMMY!!  but I rarely go there due to their prices! --why does good/healthy food have to be so $$$ and the other crap is so cheap?

anyway-I love to cook and when looking for recipies I use allrecipies.com  they have amazing stuff on there and its great to see all the reviews/suggestions before you make the dish.
