Duke Energy

Hello all,

Does anyone use Duke's quarterly budget billing program? I am moving to Cincy on Saturday (!!!) and have never heard of the program. I signed up for it but am hoping that I didn't dig myself into a hole. Is it a good program?

Re: Duke Energy

  • I don't use that one but when we lived in an apartment, we used to use their regular budget billing program. It adjusts itself every six months based on the previous six months (and if you are over or under, you get an extra fee or credit). It never screwed us over by being a huge change. I'd imagine yours is the same but adjusts quarterly. We use the regular one now, but that's because we have all electric heat/air now and prefer it this way being in the house.

  • Oh and I forgot to add that you can switch off the plan at anytime by accessing your account online.

  • We use it and like it. I like the fact that I know what my bill will be and when they check the meters every quarter, there hasn't been a huge jump for us one way or the other. And like PP said, if you don't like it, you can call and change it to regular billing or the 6 month (though my sister got screwed big time on the 6 month billing cycle)
