Poll: How do you celebrate Halloween?

We usually just curl up on the couch with a stack of scary movies and candy.

Maybe we'll actually get some trick-or-treaters this year!

Re: Poll: How do you celebrate Halloween?

  • For the past two years, I've gone over to my IL's and helped pass out the candy. They get a bunch of kids so I don't mind helping out especially since DH always works on Halloween. Last year we did go to a Halloween party and I dressed up and so did DH, it was the first time we both did since we were kids.

So I am thinking, I will be doing the same thing this year.

  • We went to a party the year before, but it was just a little too crazy for these homebodies, so last year we set up shop in front of the garage and handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters.... So  many cute costumes and little babies, I can't wiat until this year =)

  • We usually go over to my cousins house to hand out candy while she and her DH take their son around trick or treating.  They live in the historic district downtown and get TONS of kids.  It's awesome.  I love going over there and seeing all the kiddos ;)

I'm torn this year though...since it'll be our first halloween in the house, I feel like maybe I should stay home to hand out candy at our place...

  • we have an 'advent calendar' type thing that i put together for each major holiday and we do something different each day to celebrate. we love it and its so much fun.

  • Well, when I lived in Phoenix I would usually go to a bar or party with my friends.  I love halloween, getting dressed up is so fun!  Last year we had just closed on our house and starting moving in that day, so we did nothing!  We have a ton of kids in our neighborhood, so hopefully we get a bunch of cute trick-or-treaters!

  • We usually do something but I cannot remember for the life of me what we did this past Halloween. We weren't home, I do remember that.

I hope to be in a house by then so we can stay home and hand out candy! I always loved doing that when I was a kid. lol

  • We celebrate my birthday. Yep - I'm a Halloween baby. Last year we went with some friends to the bar, but quickly got bored. I think this year we'll have a shindig at our place.

  • We used to throw a costume/drinking party every year, but we've sort of outgrown that the past couple of years and have just hung out at home watching halloween-ish movies or gone out somewhere to celebrate. What I REALLY want to do is just hand out candy to kids, but kids don't trick or treat through our complex - they go to the neighborhood behind us.  :-(

  • We usually hand out candy. Last year we got back from our honeymoon that night, so we didn't do anything. This year since we will have a little one, I decided that i really wanted to host a costume party. That way we'll have all the conveniences of home, but still celebrate with our friends. I've already been scouting costumes for baby girl and trying to figure out a way we can match (maybe even as a family)...pea pod, farmer, and farmer's daugter? caterpillar and butterfly? So many choices. lol

  • We really don't celebrate it.  In the past, I would go trick-or-treating with my nephews, or hand out candy while my bro & sil took them.  But, DH & I usually just hang out together, or go out to eat somewhere.
  • We get a TON of kids, like they are bused in--many without costumes--it is cray-zay in my neighborhood...

We'd switch off taking the kiddos trick or treating and handing out candy.  I love carving pumpkins--even the mess that goes along with it.

My neighborhood has some wild peeps--like this wacky guy that dresses up and walks around on stilts and lots of garages are turned into haunted houses...

anyone that wants to see the spectacle should come my way!
