What else to do in Ithaca?

Heading to Ithaca.

We plan to camp, where is your favorite/least favorite place to camp?

Planning to go the Taughanock Falls and prob Buttermilk Falls.  Also the Sciencenter and Museum of Earth.  And I want to hit Jillian's Drawers.  Any place else I should hit with tthe kids?

TIA

Re: What else to do in Ithaca?

  • I was thinking the Corning Glass museum, but your kiddos may be a bit young for that??
  • I would take them to the Children's garden, the farmers market, and even a winery. Most will give them grape juice instead of wine or even some chocolate. The science museum is a lot of fun for kids of all ages. The museum of the earth is neat, but not as interactive for the little ones. Buttermilk is a great park as is Treman. You can swim at either and they are pretty much across the street from each other. I would think about checking out Mama Goose if you want to do some shopping, they have great second hand baby items for pennies. Hope this helps!
  • We also like to visit the trails at Cornell plantation- there's a nice lake loop, wildflower gardens, etc.

Oh- and lunch at Ithaca Bakery. Great sandwiches, breads and baked goodies. You can sit outside in nice weather. We always make a point to stop when we're in town.
