wedding photographer? I'm popping over from my local MI board:
My cousin is planning a destination wedding in Phoenix in Sept 2011 and recently told me that he can't find any photographers for under $5 000. I just can't believe this is the case. so I thought I'd ask you ladies who you hired for a more reasonable rate and pass the info along to him.

Christine Valenzuela from Kiss the Camera. She was so good, and such fun to work with!
I don't know how much she charges, because she was part of the package deal at my venue, but I can imagine she can work out something for far less than $5,000!
Plenty of photographers under $5K! Is that her budget?

Jacquelyn Phillips of Moments in Film is amazing, we are using her for our wedding in October, I think her packages come with a lot and def is under that budget point. I honestly plan on using her for every major even in our life from here on out.

My vote is for Mike Maez... http://www.mikemaez.com/
His packages start at $1500, and the highest is $2600. His rates are for ALL DAY, not an hourly rate, for all packages. Whenever you start getting ready, he starts working, and he doesn't go home until you leave the reception.
He also includes engagement shoots with 4 out of 5 packages, and he does 4 hours for engagement pictures (it's $150 separate). He also has videography add-on packages, and I've seen some of his videos, they are amazing.
He has some really beautiful albums that I never imagined a wedding album to be even close to as nice as. Also ask him to see the metallic prints if you meet up with him, they are gorgeous!!
His pricing is all on his site, he's very responsive to calls and emails, and really easy to work with. Really nice guy, and his work is amazing. He was my first choice, and I'm insanely picky about photography because I'm a pretty serious hobby photographer.
He gave us a really great deal for our wedding being on a week day too, so he's fair in every way we've seen so far.

We used Sandra Tenuto, www.tenutophoto.com and she was AMAZING!!! She used to be the team photographer for a few of the pro teams here in town so she has a really awesome style. She has some packages under 5k, including the one we picked which was a full day of coverage, 2 photographers, rights to all of the nearly 2000 photos she took.
