2561 miles in 9 days of riding.
DH I left for vacation on 7/29/10 and returned 8/9/10. We went out to Jackson Hole, WY and back, stopping a various places along the way. I put 2561 miles on my bike. There were 3 days that I didn't ride because we did sight seeing and I rode on the back of DH's bike. He put 3200 miles on his. Of the 45 people in our club that met out in Jackson Hole there was only 3 of us women that rode our own motorcycles.
I rode over mountain passes, in tunnels through the mountain, switchbacks, in the Black Hills, through Yellowstone (had to dodge a bison that ran up right in front of my bike), into Sturgis and through the plains and the dreaded crickets/grasshoppers in SD. It was SO MUCH FUN!

I totally thought the same thing (probably because I have friends who like to bike (bicycle) a lot and have put on a hundred miles+ a day. But 2561 in 9 days would be a ton for a bicycle!)
Sounds like a great time, and I think it's awesome that you ride your own motorcycle!!
