I posted a while back about relocating to the area and you were so nicce and helpful, but then I dissappeared.  I will try to come around more often.  I have still not had much luck with finding a place to live, but we are still holding out hope that we will find the perfect place before we leave Dallas next week.  That being said do any of you know anything about the lofts in Lowell?  Are they nice and is the area nice?

Heyy! Sorry about having no luck. My last apartment was in Lowell. The lofts are VERY nice and it is in the historical down town area which isn't too bad. I personally hated living in Lowell. We cut our lease short because we really wanted to move to a quieter area. It's very city-like and a lot of parts are run down. The belvidere section is nice, too though. The downtown area has a lot of bars and night life. UMASS Lowell is right around the corner so there are a lot of college kids around. Beware... downtown during traffic.... UGH! But there is public transportation! Message me if you need anything else!

My friend lives in the lofts there! Her loft is SO nice. I was a little jealous when she moved in because it was so spacious and open. Lowell is an up and coming area and they have come a long way with rejuvenating their downtown. It very far away from Boston, but some people prefer that.

No insights on Lowell here, but I'm sorry you're having trouble finding a place.  Hope something turns up soon!

I personally wouldn't want to live in Lowell. It's kind of a rough city. But if the place is on the outskirts near a nicer town then that probably wouldn't be bad.

I like Lowell (it is really city like though), and have heard great things about the lofts.  I can't remember---do you have kids or are you planning on kids soon?  I can't say that I would be comfortable with the Lowell public school system.

No kiddos any time soon for us.  We decided to wait until DH is done with school.

I've heard that the lofts are really nice, but that the area isn't so nice... which seems to be consistant with everyone else here!
