I hate that!!! DH's family always has birthday parties and stuff around that time and I just don't get it?! The kid is 3 (or 7, or whatever the case), they don't need a dinner party on a Saturday....
Although maybe it only annoys me because that's not what I'm used to? DH thinks it's totally normal, probably because that's the way they've always done it. *sigh*
