  • It should let you go back and delete the multiple posts after a few minutes.

    Here are ours:

    Boy:  Byron Mark (not BRYON).

    Girl:  Becca Lane

AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
  • Boy-- Elijah Matthew or Bryce Mason

Girl-- Aria Lynn (I might change my mind about the Lynn... it's my former middle name and my dad's middle name, but it's also MIL's first name, and that's not a legacy I'd ever wish upon my daughter)

  • We've had names picked out for quite awhile, and the girls name has always been set in stone!

Girl: Scout Emma or Scout Harper

Possible Boys: Oliver, Owen, Jonas, or Noah (all with the middle name David)

If we have another girl we like Lucy or Vivienne
  • Since I a have all J names I can't change it now. My girls are:

Jacqueline Anne, Jessica Ashley, and Joanna Mercedes so if we do have another it will be

    Girl : Julianna Apple

    Boy: Justin Daniel

  • We don't know the exact names yet, but we know who we want to name the kids after.

    Girl- My grandma Rebeca

    Boy- Aaron's grandfather Arthur

Being Jewish we can only name the kid after someone who is no longer alive, so that might make a difference when it is time. My grandma died 3 years ago, but his grandfather just celebrated his 90th birthday last week.

Adam and I would totally be screwed then.  Byron is his dad's name.  Mark is Adam AND his dad's middle name.  My mom's name is Rebecca.  Lane was my middle name before I dropped it when we got married.

BTW.... If we have another boy, Adam wants to give the kid HOMER as a middle name.  That was his grandfather's name, but I think I'm going to have to veto that sh!t.

  • These are the ones in the running:

Girl:  Kathryn Olivia, Julianna Olivia  (Hubby likes Olivia as a first name but I don't know if I like it as a first name)

    Boys- Jason Michael, Ryan ???

My middle name is Jo, I was named after my dad Joey so we're thinking of carrying on the tradition =]

haha thanks! yeah, her English teacher is going to read names off his roster and think, "Alright, who's got the nerdy parents?" haha

I plan on reading the book to her at night when she's little...

Sometimes I really can't wait to be a mom

  • Boy - Ethan Lee or Bryce Lee (Lee is a family name)

Girl - I really like Emelia or Madison with the middle name of Robyn (my mothers name).

  • We haven't honestly discussed much.  DH's big thing is he want's names that can't be teased.  So his test for a name I suggest/like would be rhyming it to see if it's easily teas-able.

DH is Charles V, we would consider naming a son Charles VI, but go back and forth on this too.

I'm afraid we will be those parents 9 months pregnant with no names.

Ok, so this is going to sound REEEEALLLY dumb, but if you're naming someone after someone, do you HAVE to have the numeral with it??  Our boy name would technically be Byron Mark II but I really don't like the "II".  You can just not have the numeral, right??

  • I love the name Calllie (tho maybe with a stranger spelling). I KNOW we will name our first daughter Annabel Lynn (Lynn is the middle name of my grandma, my mom, and me... coincidentally my MIL and one of the SIL's... so we'll make extra people extra happy).

Annabel is a nod to Edgar Allen Poe's poem, Annabel Lee which is IMO one of the most beautiful pieces of poetry ever written.

Honestly I don't know.  I don't think they can force you to use the II but I think without it there would be a lot of confusion.  With the II there would still be confusion but at least there is something distinguishing them from each other.

I know DH sometimes gets things in the mail for his dad.  I don't know how they ever get our address, but they do.  The bigger problem is that FIL's credit has shown up on DH's credit report.  This is just annoying to deal with.

That's what I was worried about.  I wasn't sure if it would be an issue with say, the social security office or something....

Well I can't see them making you name him with the II because there are so many say John Smiths in the world.

Wait, you're husband is Adam(right?), how would Byron Mark be a II?

  • Because that's his dad's name... so technically, he would be Byron Mark II, right? (unless I'm completely bass-ackwards and have no idea what I'm talking about).

I have always thought about using this name-- it's so beautiful and I love the poem! I don't think it works with our last name though Sad

Technically, I guess you are right.  But if I were you I would just use Byron Mark and no II.

  • Boy - Cole Mathew

Girl - undecided - we had a name picked out and then I met someone with the same first name that really soured it for me - she wasn't very nice.  So we're back to square one.  But it would have been Hanna Elizabeth.

Cole is my maiden name (and now my middle name) and Mathew is a derivative of DH's name - his legal name is "Matt," not Mathew or Matthew, but you get the gist.

  • Girls: Kathryn Nicole, Kayleigh Nicole or Kaitlyn Nicole

Boys:Edward Allen (My HH's name with my Dad's first name) It's a tradition on his families side.

  • We don't know if we want kids, but we plan on names for if we get more dogs hahaha.

Kids-wise I just hate funky spellings. Madisyn and Lyndsy and Heileigh WTF? Just spell it the right way!! You aren't being unique, it's just OBNOXIOUS! Plus it's a pain in the ass for your kid when no one can spell or pronounce your name. I'm lucky, at least Hayley is easy to pronounce even if no one EVER spells it right. My poor sister ALWAYS has her name spelled and pronounced wrong. And people on the boards will of course, make fun of you. Maybe not on the bump though, cuz I think they are all nuts for crazy spellings.

  • I'll join in, I have our names picked out!

Boys: Bradley Taylor & Edward Vincent

Girls: Charlotte Elizabeth & Olivia Kathleen

Kathleen is my middle name, and my aunt's first name.....DH really keeps saying he wants a boy named Vinny so I compromised and made it a middle name.  With our last name I think these all sound famous & distinguished.  LOL

    I love the name Harper!

  • For a girl, we're definitely sold on Addison (fitting since it means "child of Adam"), but that's as far as we've gotten.  We made a list, which has twice as many girl names than boy names.

I like Ethan, Connor and Lucas for boys.  Unfortunately, Adam isn't big on using family names b/c I'd love to name our girl Addison Mae (Mae is my grandmother's middle name) and use my Dad's first name as the boy's middle name, which is what my sister did (my dad passed away 7 years ago)

I think the name after the person who has passed will be a middle name for us, unless we use a variation. The grandparents all have what I consider "old school" names. Louis, Morris, etc.

    Don'tcha just hate that?!

Matt dated girls with all of my favorite girls' names, so I'm annoyed with him because I had to scrap all of the names I liked. Renee? Yeah, like I want to be reminded of the next-most-serious girl. Brooke? Girl he dated right before me. Meghan? First girlfriend. Christina? The chick who called his mother to get ahold of him nearly a decade after their breakup (MIL had sense for once in her life and refused to give her his new number, but how weird is it that she even called in the first place?). Somehow every ex of his except "Lori" and "Kristen" had a name that I LOVED and wanted to use someday.

Adam and I have had the same issues except not with exes.  He'll suggest a name and I'm like "Nope, the only girl I ever knew with that name was a whore".... or "I knew a guy in high school named that and he was a major douche"

Forgot to tell you guys... before Adam and I even got engaged, his mother called me one day and said "When you guys start having kids, will you name one after me???"  Indifferent Um, no.

Haha thats crazy stu! I really like the name Ariana for a girl, but HH knew a girl in high school named that and she wouldn't leave him alone. She was crazy about him but he couldn't stand her. I actually met her once when their family visited our church for a missions conference (her dad is a missionary) and she was flirting with him right in front of me! We'd been dating for around a year at the time and were pretty serious so this really ticked me off. I couldn't wait for them to leave =P (HH and I grew up in different states so I've never met any of his exes thank goodness!!!)
