*Just* ordered my new Droid!

I'm a new Verizon customer so I was able to pay $0.01 for the phone (ordered through Amazon.com) and then sign up for a new line of service w/ Verizon, which will only cost me $10 more a month than my current non-smartphone talk-text-only plan.

I am so pumped - SO has had one since before we started dating, and he's always showing me cool apps and things he is able to do with it - like remote into his home computer on it while we're out, use it as a remote for that computer while we watch dvd's on it, turn by turn navigation (w/ Google maps), etc etc etc....

I just wanted to AW for a second but recommend your favorite apps!  I'm expecting it to arrive early next week.

Re: *Just* ordered my new Droid!

  • DH and i just got Droids about 2 weeks ago and love them.

Get the Advanced Task Killer for sure - helps kill tasks you aren't really using - to save battery life.

i love the flashlight ap... turns on the camera flash like a little flashlight when you need one...

i have some aps that my 3 y/o can play (animal homes/sounds, puzzles)

there are so many aps - it's amazing what a phone can do these days! enjoy it!

  • I want one so bad!! But I have to wait until next month when I am eligible for an upgrade. DH and I will both get one then (he's been eligible for his upgrade for months now) - I'm so excited!

SO has both the flashlight and advanced task killer on his, so I plan to get both - pretty amazing!

I'm psyched to be out of the dark ages...I want to get some apps for my LO too, he's 20 months so it'll be a little while before I'll let him play though :-).

When you get one you will love it!!!  I waited 8 months to get mine, it was a loong wait.  It just came in yesterday and I'm loving it.

SO has tested a bunch of different apps if you guys want some suggestions, I can send them over.  We both recommend LauncherPro for more home screens (you can have up to 7 screens with it), and System Panel (task killer - once you open an app it stays running, so you use the task killer to end all running apps).
