  • Woohoooo, congratulations! It looks brilliant! I'm amazed you succeeded to get a whole house in Amsterdam!
  • Zwiggy, this is stunning! So much light and storage and SPACE. I love it! The flooring choices are also fantastic throughout.
  • It's beautiful! It looks spacious too. I always assumed houses in Amsterdam would be teeny.

Loving the balcony too. What part of town is it in?

It's not gigantic (130m2), but it's plenty for 2 people.

It's in the Jordaan area (on Tuinstraat if you're familiar with it).

Right?  I like the place we're in now, but this one is really nice.  Did you see?  Full size oven!

We get the keys on the 27th, I believe.  You can come ANY time.

Anytime!  We have to get some sort of bed for the guest room (we didn't demand any changes so we would be considered desirable tenants), but after that . . . it's the Nestie party house, LOL.

  • Congratulations!  The house is beautiful!

HA HA HA HA HA HA

The 27th? Hmmmm. I am there on the 30th for a doc's appointment. Maybe I can have the hubster drop me off then I train it home. Now that I have my ov-chipkaart I am not afraid of trams anymore. Oh and I can maybe help you unpack. Or be totally pregnant and useless but visit anyway.

    It's gorgeous!  And huge130m?!?!  Wow!

(I think I've been living here too long!  I was kind of glad to downsize, because I used to get embarrassed when I told people that we rented a 106m? place for just the two of us.)

  • that is beautiful. i see why you love it and i'm so happy you got it. i love it!!!

i like my apartment, but it is only 70m2 for almost 3 of us.

  • Congrats zwiggy!  It is a GORGEOUS house.  Seriously, I love it. Forget Israel!  Can me and DH come live with you?

We're not messy and we won't make a lot of noise.

  • It's so pretty!

And Gilli, I too think 130m2 sounds really big for 2 people. Our place is 100m2, and we have plenty of space. Clearly I've been out of the US for too long - every time I go home everything just seems huge to me.

  • Zwigs...that place is freaking AWESOME!!!!!  I'm with xnickerx...if you need some help moving in, unpacking, or just being comic relief, let me know!!!

  • Oh man. I feel like a bit of a space hog now (and not the funny Muppets kind). This was actually one of the smallest places we looked at, LOL.

all the more space to have my fellow Nesties over, eh?

  • don't feel like a space hog! i've always wanted to live in a small place (because i want to get my cleaning and organization skills down before expanding) and this is the smallest place we've ever lived and the smallest we considered. but, it works for us.

also i will not be taking in any visitors or having many people over, while your place is built for that! :)

my husband loves bigger places and loves amsterdam and i'm scared if i show him pictures of your place, he might try to move in with you.

Hey, we have tons of space now, so he'd be welcome, LOL. I'll ask my German cousins for some recipes and make him some nice comfort food. Just let me know when you need your hips to yourself, haha.

  • That's beautiful! Lucky you! :)

  • it's ok... he's american so loves american comfort food. :) i'll send him over as soon as he comes back from the us!

i think it's funny that although 130m2 is a very decent sized place for two, as emilyinchile mentioned, in the us their idea of large is so different. we're really not spoiled in the "size of our home" department here, are we? i think the best thing about your place zwiggy, isn't the size, but it just looks so cool. it looks like a place in a design magazine.

that's it! my husband and i are both moving in!

  • wow, it looks more than awesomely amazing. I love the built-in lights in the shower, the terrace, the kitchenm the floors, everything!

And 130 square meters is HUGE for Europe. This is the size of my house in the US!

  • Is that a garage for your bikes?  Sweet.

I will await an email inviting me to visit :)
