Favorite Deli-type sandwich?

What is your most favorite deli-style sandwich?

Mine is an open faced roast beef sandwich on a bagel, with dijon and horseradish sauce, with a tomato and melted Pepper Jack cheese. I am having that for dinner tomorrow :-)

Re: Favorite Deli-type sandwich?

  • Tomato, Mozzarella, Prosciutto with a basil balsamic dressing....YUM
  • Anything that can be officially called a hoagie, especially if it's from Lee's (Lisa is probably the only one who gets that). Especially tuna or turkey hoagies.

Around here, I love the Italian deli sandwiches with fresh mozzarella (we call in "mutz" in these parts). Roast beef, mutz and balsamic, or brisket mutz and gravy are two of my favorites.

Darn, now I'm going to have to get one of these for dinner.

oh my mouth is watering. this.

  • Yes Lee's hoagies are awesome! I thought the one in Southampton was the only one around- there is one in Quakertown like 10 min from where I live and a number of other locations too in the area.

  • My sisters worked at the one in Abington when I was a kid (my mom's cousin owned it at the time), so we had hoagies for dinner like 3 times a week for a little while.  The one in Southhampton wasn't open yet when I lived in HV, which is too bad because we would have given it a lot of business.

(PS since I don't think we've mentioned it here - Lisa and I recently figured out that we grew up in the same small Philly suburb. How crazy is that!)

  • This is a perfect post - I'm going to the deli with a co-worker in a few minutes to pick up lunch!!  I wanted turkey, but now roast beef sounds good!!!  With "mutz"  :)

  • Oooo, I love deli sandwiches!  My favorite is usually turkey-swiss-avocado on a croissant or pretzel bread if I'm in the mood for healthy!

I may have to run to the deli for lunch :P

  • I'm kind of a plain & simple girl...I love me a turkey club with lettuce, tomato, light mayo and dijon mustard and usually lots of pickles.

Man, now I want a sandwhich for lunch instead of the leftovers.
