Second ultrasound looks good!

They measured my cervix.  So far so good!  (3.8 cm)  My cerclage will be scheduled for week after next.  I'm a little nervous about it.  Has anyone gone thru this?  What can I expect for recovery?  Will I be sore/in pain or is it just cramping/bleeding (sorry TMI).

I may be at home for 2 days following the procedure, so I'm hoping this board will pick up some so I won't be so bored at home!

Baby also looked great.  Measured 11w2d.  EDD 4-4-2009 (MY birthday!!)  He/she was jumping around like crazy!!

Re: Second ultrasound looks good!

  • So glad to hear that everything went well!  That is cool that your due date is your birthday!  Big Smile

  • Yay for good ultrasounds! :):)  What do you think you're going to have?  Any feelings yet?

And I honestly have no idea what a cerclage even is.  Sorry :P

  • Im so glad things went so well.  I also have no clue about that procedure.

Have you been to the high risk Dr yet?  I know you wanted to see them early.  Good Luck.  Let us know how it all goes.

It was described to me as taking a strap or band and clamping or "sewing" the top of the cervix shut.  I will have to be put out for the procedure.

My appt with the high risk doctor is this Thursday.  Please keep fingers crossed for me!

  • My friend who had twins had that done.... it was at like 15 weeks and she went on bedrest a week or two later... not sure the details though.
  • There are a few girls on the 3rd tri board who have had them done. I believe the recovery does require bedrest for a few weeks to avoid leaking fluid.

Glad to hear everything is looking good so far!
