Re: Rumba

  • Do you have pets? I was thinking about getting one, but I don't know how well it does with pet hair.
  • Which one did you get? I'm interested in getting one but we bought my B&SIL one for Xmas and they said that while it does an ok job for light pick-ups, they still have to vacuum regularly. I know there are many different models though! Theirs was a $250 one from Costco.

  • We bought one a few months ago. Best investment ever. Some people complain about them breaking down too quickly (though I think it might have to do with lack of maintenance) so we bought a 4 year warranty. If it breaks on Year 4 Day 1, it will have been worth it.

To the pp, it works awesome if you have pets. We have 3 cats. However, most of our floors are laminate. I set the Roomba and can mop after. It picks up everything. If you have carpet, it won't replace your weekly vacuuming because there's no suction so it won't pull up any embedded pet hair. But good for touch-ups.

  • Thanks mand!  By the way, I love your sig pics!
  • I have the $350 one (Bed Bath and Beyond price marked it for the cheaper one and gave it to me at the price marked because they made a mistake). It picks up everything! You just need to empty it out after it's done which is a sinch-- it's literally like taking a little drawer out and dumping it into the trash. I don't have pets but it picks up everything else I can't imagine it not picking up pet hair. You just might have to empty it once or twice (depending on how big your space is) while it's cleaning so it doesn't get full.

  • I like mine, but I only use it for light cleaning.  My dog hates it though.
