We made it!

Hi girls!!  We made it to AZ (from PA) on Tuesday.  We did a long drive with our toddler and two dogs.  Believe it or not, we all made it here in one piece!!  We are exhausted and trying to take care of a bunch of stuff before my husband starts his new job on Monday.

We put an offer on a house in Litchfield Park while we were here house hunting a couple of weeks ago.  We found out yesterday we got it and are thrilled!!  Tomorrow is the inspection and hopefully the house is not shot to hell!!  :)

Still no job for me but I've had a couple of phone interviews with a company out of Texas for a job here.  Have a third phone interview with them next week...

That's it... just glad to be HOME and hope to meet some of you sometime!!

Re: We made it!

  • YaY... welcome!!!!  Glad you guys made it safe and sound.

We have so many people moving here all of a sudden. :)

  • Yay!  Welcome...I've been wondering about you lately.  Hope to meet you.  We actually won't be very far apart if you're in Litchfield Park...we're in Surprise.  Glad to hear it went well!

  • Thanks everyone!  We are excited about the house and glad to be back here in Arizona with family/friends!  We used to live near Avondale and loved the Old Litchfield Park area so we are excited to be able to live out there.

Welcome!!!! How in God's name did you get a house so freaking fast? Was it a foreclosure? I'm so envious!!!

    That is weird!!

We were so lucky to get this house, honestly!  It was a short sale but had already had an approval from the bank.  We offered less and were sure that was going to slow things up but it really didn't.  I'm nervous the bank knows something we don't about the house.  We'll see how the inspection turns out!

We've been incredibly lucky on this end but I can assure you that we were given a heck of a time on the other end in selling our house as part of the paid move.  Although we were lucky to have a buyer because it's  a paid move, they made us jump through more hoops than a three ring circus.  So, we're just glad things seem to be progressing here with relatively few hiccups!!

Wow! Well, good luck. I hope it goes well!! I've never bought a hosue but the inspection seems like it would be very nerve-racking!!

  • Welcome!! :-D Glad you made the trip here safe and have a house in the works! Don't be nervous about the inspection. More than likely, the bank was just itching to get rid of the house. Good luck and keep us updated on your situation. :)
  • Welcome to AZ!! I am another Surprise girl so I'm not far from you either!

That is amazing about the house. Congratulations! I can't even wait until I put up a post about us buying our house, haha!

**Side note** Stacy, I've noticed (at least in my community) that these SS are not taking as long as a SS would closer to Phoenix or on the ES. Maybe it has to do with our area not being in as high of a demand? We've had 6 neighbors SS their house in the last 6 months and they already have buyers living inside of them....

HUH....I don't know. We've had 2 SS's and neither are going fast. I don't think it has to do with the area...it's all about the bank and how quickly they react to it. I just wish we'd freaking hear something. This waiting game SUCKS!

This, the house we are in, in Surprise was a SS and it took over 6 months from the time the offer wa sput in to the day we closed... Wells and BofA(formally Country Wide) suck as far as getting back to people on SS.
