Hi! I'm visiting from the NJ boards... I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding and we're planning her bachelorette party in Boston, for the weekend of 11/19-11/21. I was only there once and I loved Jake Ivory's, but I looked them up online and saw that they closed. I also found a pole dancing class (right up the bride's alley!) called Gypsy Rose. Can anyone offer any other suggestions? We want to have a fun packed weekend, so I need ideas for restaurants as well as things to do during the day and night. Some of us will be arriving Friday night, but everyone should be there by noon or so on Saturday, and we'll probably leave by 2pm at the latest on Sunday. Thanks!
(PS One of the reasons we decided on Boston is because of the bachelorette's love for NKOTB... so if you happen to know of where they used to hang out or anything to do with them, that would be great!)
Re: bachelorette party ideas in Boston
Gypsy Rose sounds like a fun activity.
Jacques Cabaret is in the theater district/ south end area. It's a drag show. I know a few friends of mine have had Bachelorette parties there and have had a good time. (And who knows... maybe one of the drag queens could give you a lesson pole dancing lesson.) ; )
How many people will be there? There are so many really nice places to eat. Stella, http://www.bostonstella.com/ in the South End, is a great place for a medium size party, around 10 or so. Really tasty Italian food, something for everyone. It's nice because it's not a really touristy kind of place, might be good for your Friday evening dinner.
If you want touristy:
***'s Last Resort or Durgin Park in Faneuil Hall, both kind of tacky but fun.
November is a beautiful time in Boston. You may want to check out some of the places in the Fort Point area as well.
Sam's at Louis www.samsatlouis.com. We had cocktails there this week and the view was amazing. This is not a huge place, but would be great if it's not a large party.
Drink. http://drinkfortpoint.com/ Kind of a place to be seen, but the drinks are supposed to be amazing.
Lucky's Lounge. Think of a basement bar from 1974... very cool, retro vibe. http://www.luckyslounge.com/
Other fun things... Flour Bakery is not to be missed. The sticky buns are to die for!
JP Licks Ice Cream on Newbury St. YUM!
Not sure if the Duck Tours will still be going, but that might be fun.http://www.bostonducktours.com/Default.aspx
Friday Evening in the south end Brix Wine Shop has a nice free wine tasting. If you are going to Stella, that would be a great place to visit on your way over.
Top of the Hub would be good for drinks, but it's really expensive.
Have a blast.
for my bachelorette in Boston, we did dinner and dessert at Finale, karaoke at Limelight studios, and ended up at The Liquor store, where they have a mechanical bull. It was a good time. PP gave good suggestions as well.
You can rent a bus called the Bustonian, and drink, play music on the bus, etc.
