Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

G'Monday, Nesties! Did everyone have a good weekend?

I'll tell ya, the weather here in MD was positively fall-like and gorgeous, even though it rained! It really has me getting the fall itch :-) Accordingly, Hubs and I hung out all day Saturday, which was a rare treat, with his work schedule and all, and spent the afternoon at Ravens Training Camp - woo hoo!

Then yesterday I was able to get more TY notes done, and make a nice old traditional grilled steak, baked potato, with salad and hot bread dinner...all in all, not a bad weekend at all...what about you gals??

Re: Happy Monday! How was your weekend?

  • I had an extended weekend from thur-sun and it was FABULOUS! DH and I went down to the Cape to visit his grandparents in Eastham. I was like a family reunion! It was suppose to be only the 2 of us, but it was DH's grandfather's b-day so the ENTIRE family went down! Luckily we had our own cottage so we didn't have to be around them 24/7 - I spent about 90% of my time at the beach and it was GREAT! I am sad we probably won't be able to go back down this summer but we have both decided we are going to go more often next year!
  • I had a good weekend. Friday night we ordered pizza and stayed in.  Saturday we went to Springfield,IL to visit the Lincoln musuem and had a delicious horseshoe for lunch (thanks to Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives for showing us the place).  Sunday we hung out all day, did laundry, tried to nap (stupid neighbor kids playing in the hallway) and just took it easy.

  • We had a great weekend! We went to a party at a friend's Sat pm. Sat am I spent making deviled eggs (turned out great!) and choc cupcakes (also great!) and did a load of laundry, and worked out again. It felt like a very productive day.

Sunday we just relaxed/recovered from Saturday's party and watched tv and movies, then went out to dinner at a newer mexican restaurant. Esp with the rain it was a perfect way to spend the day together. :-)

  • Lisa...I always have such a hard time making deviled eggs!  I don't really eat them either.  I got an egg plate as part of our fiestaware and I always want to make them for parties...I just always have a hard time peeling them without tearing chunks!  LOL

Our weekend was good!  Friday night we researched computers.  Saturday we hung around the house and then went to our friend's for a pool party! fun!

Then Sunday I made BBQ pasta salad for a family picnic/gtg at MIL's. Then we went grocery shopping.  Then home to watch the finale of food network star!  :)

  • Good weekend here too. On summer Fridays I get off work early and I was in the mood to cook, so I greeted DH with brownies and homemade mac and cheese when he got home from work - neither of which I have made before. My goodness homemade mac and cheese is good, definitely need to add that to the rotation.

Saturday was one of the most fun days I've had in a while. The Phillies were playing the Mets in NY, so along with a couple of other Phillies fans we're friends with, we did this organized event for the game run by a Phily organization. It involved a 2 1/2 hour booze cruise along the East River, which took us to Citi Field. The boat ride was awesome, we had unlimited beers and good food, and it was fun hanging out with 300 other Philly fans. The only issue was that this one idiot decided it would be funny to jump overboard into the disgusting river (apparently his friend bet him $100 to do it).  Our boat pretty much stopped, and the NYPD/FDNY sent like 7 fire trucks, a few ambulances, a bunch of police cars, and 3 police boats to rescue this moron. After that they stopped serving beer :(

Oh and the game was great too - the Phils won, yay! It was fun watching the game with a huge group of Phils fans.  My sister and nephews saw me and DH on TV too!

  • Good morning everyone! My weekend was pretty laid back. It was nice to relax one weekend. I made a cake friday night that I was very happy with (picture in blog) but other than that H and I did pretty much nothing. I was so tired from everything I did last week that I slept until almost 2 PM on saturday and after that I felt SO much better Smile.

  • Weekend was productive!!! We got a lot of our yard work done, and even had time for a date night on Saturday.  We got a quick dinner then to a 6:00 showing of Toy Story 3 - total amazingness!  :)  After that we came home and watched Pre-Season Lions vs Steelers football (my 2 home teams).  My cousin was at the game, and it was storming so they had to call the game & didn't start it back up for almost an hour.  The Lions lost.  :(

I managed to get all my errands done yesterday in 2 hours....unfortunately I had Mike locked out of the house all that time, and it was like, 95 and muggy out. He left his keys in my car after our 2nd trip to Lowe's, which I dropped him off to finish our white rocks and took off to do my errands. Not thinking that a) his keys were in my car and b) we locked the doors to go to Lowe's. I noticed them, but more than halfway through my errands. Right as I was getting home he was getting ready to climb through the window.  I don't know why he didn't go next door.

  • My weekend was so-so. Friday was my dad's b-day. My grandmother was released from the skilled nursing unit that day so the celebration had to wait. Saturday morning was great. We just relaxed, ran a few errands, then got ready for my dad's party.

This is were the weekend kinda went down hill. It was a little after 10:30 Saturday night when we left my parents' house. DH drained the cooler, put that in the back seat and came back inside to help me with the puppy and our other stuff. We get in the car, I placed a blue towel on my legs so that the puppy had something soft to lay on. Well, he kept jumping and would not settle down. We made it down the street when I realized the puppy and I were both covered in fireants (I was lucky and only had about a dozen bites, poor puppy on the other hand had much more). It was after midnight when we got home. The puppy was sick from the pain, cold water from the hose, and then being held in a towel outside in 80 degree temps. We both were drugged on Benadryl all day Sunday....

So hoping this is a better week!

  • My (extra long) weekend was fabulous!  I flew to Chicago on Thursday night to meet up with an ex-knottie.  We explored the city on Friday and Saturday and I flew back yesterday.  We had a fabulous time except for the scorching heat!

  • Ours was great...I was home sick on Friday, so Fri evening consisted of take out and movies. Saturday we went to a wedding reception for one of DH's friend's who got married in Key West last month and had a great time. It was a back yard bbq and very laid back and fun...we ended up sitting a chatting till 12:30 am! Sunday it was yucky here, we went for breakfast and watched movies all day.

  • My weeked was good.  Friday I had my final for my summer class (one more class down!) and then DH took me out to dinner afterwards to celebrate.

DH had to work from home all weekend, and I just wanted to relax so I slept in late watched a couple of movies and ran some errands.  Nothing too exciting  :)

  • We moved all of my furniture form my house (hopefully I'll be closing soon) to "our" house. I had, of course, moved all of my clothes, necessities, some furniture & etc but this weekend we move the BIG stuff like my china cabinet, dining room table & chairs, buffet, book shelf, etc... I am stinking EXHAUSTED! On Sunday while we were unpacking I roasted a chicken so we'd have something good to eat for supper & Nelson's cousin (& my good friend) came by & brought us a chocolate meriange (sp?) pie. OMG that thing was G-O-O-D. The chicken wasn't too bad either. We'll be eating chicken pot pie, chicken & rice, etc all week. I don't mind at all, I'm so tired & sore I need easy meals to cook this week.
