How was your weekend?

I'm so tired this morning, I don't know what's wrong with me.

The wedding on Saturday was great, and it was so nice to be part of a gay wedding ceremony.  The ceremony was right in front of the pond where the swan boats are and the couple got a round of applause from a boatload of tourists as they went by, which I thought was really sweet.  Dinner at Mooo was ridiculously decadent, and I'll have to try to remember to post a pick of the steak later--no joke, that sucker looked like it was 2 lbs. big.  I was a little afraid of it.

Volleyball yesterday went well.  I'm sore today because I haven't moved like that in a while and I'm definitely rusty, but today my back doesn't feel broken so that's a good sign!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: How was your weekend?

  • I'm glad you made it through the tournament in one piece!

My weekend was good, but not as sunny as I would have liked.  I did see a lot of shooting stars on Friday and Saturday nights, and got that BoB airplanes song stuck in my head a few too many times as a result.  Otherwise I did a lot of reading and a lot of sleeping.  I was totally wiped out after last week so a recovery weekend was necessary and perfect.

  • I have to try Mooo.  My weekend was nice.  I made a delicious dinner Saturday night, and was quite proud of myself.  Sunday we relaxed with the in-laws.
  • I'm exhausted, but thats because I ran myself ragged this weekend.

Saturday we went out to the Berkshires and spend the day walking around Stockbridge before heading to Tanglewood to see John Williams

We did some more sightseeing Sunday before heading home, and then DH went to IKEA to get the rest of the furniture we need for the baby's room.  Yay tax free!

  • Our weekend was great, went down the Cape to a friend's house and spent the whole day Saturday at the beach!  Sunday was low key when we got home, but nice to relax!

  • Weekend was fantastic! Girls weekend in Ogunquit! I'm so tired today though.

I'm also super excited because I start my personal training today!!!!!!

I dream of having a personal trainer.  Report back on how you like it!

  • Saturday I had lunch with my college bff. It was pretty awesome.

Sunday we went to look at treadmills and ellipticals but didn't end up buying anything.

  • Busy weekend for DH and I!

Thursday night, DH picked me up from work (at around 11:30PM) and we headed down to PA for a wedding on Friday. We got to our hotel in NJ at about 3:30AM, crashed, then woke up at 9AM. We visted the New Hope Winery and then went to the wedding at the Hollyhedge Estate. It was beautiful! The bride is a close family friend of my husbands. My S'sIL were Matron of Honor and a bridesmaid.

Saturday morning we left around 7AM to get back home because we were both working that night. Worked Saturday (ended up playing bellman for the last hour of my shift.)

Sunday morning we got up at 8AM and ran a 12 mile long run. Then work again for the both of us!

Phew, I'm tired just writing that.

  • Holy crap, Laina, that sounds exhausting.  I'm super impressed by (and also think you're slightly crazy for doing) the 12 mile run at 8am on Sunday after all that!

Haha, I am crazy. And my knees are not happy about it. I'll be doing a lot of stretching over the next few days.

  • We had a great weekend at the wedding. My friend looked beautiful and they are such a happy, loving couple. It was an exhausting couple of days though with everything and we were glad to get home yesterday and relax. Everything went really great for the wedding- fantastic weather, everyone in great spirits, schedule worked out fine. The only issue was her priest; my poor friend is upset that he made her guests really uncomfortable. That will be an interesting conversation topic for years to come.

Well now you have to tell us what he said/did!  Was it something along the lines of the wife being obedient and pushing out babies?

Ugh! First he was an hour and a half late to rehersal and wouldn't take any responsiblity for the mistake and was bullying the bride into how the ceremony should go. During the actual ceremony, he stopped one of the readers and told her to start over because he didn't like how she was speaking. Then he started going into his views on homosexuality and AIDS, along with a few other opinions that were inappropriate to express at the event. He also talked about "horny & sexy love" at length. Finally, at the reception, he was all over any woman in her 20s for a dance, which wouldn't have been so bad except he would dance her away from the dance floor to a corner of the room and told a coulpe girls "I like the way your body feels".

Indifferent  This was a priest?  Wow, someone went into the wrong line of work.

Indifferent  That is horrible and totally inappropriate.  I mean all of it, but even just one of those things is enough.

Indifferent was exactly the face everyone was making during the ceremony. we're really interested to see our expressions played back on the video.
