How was your weekend?

We had a nice one. Our plans got a little switched around. Saturday I ended up redoing the hall, John's, Brooks' and my closets. They had been sorely neglected the past few months and showed it. So nice to start the week all freshly organized. Then we ran a bunch of errands.
Sunday we drove out to John's grandparents. It's 2.5 hours one way, and I guess I always forget that little nugget. Also there is something that grows in that area that I am HIGHLY allergic to. So I ended up with a massive sinus headache that nothing but sleep could get rid of. Good times.

Re: How was your weekend?

  • I got a new sewing table that I'm contemplating on how to re-do. It needs a good bit of work, but so far, sanding has been fun. :)

Also, started a good bit of cleaning. We have a large list of cleaning to tackle. I literally wrote the list on a posterboard and taped it in our kitchen. Motivation? I hope so. :)

  • DH woke up Sat to do his 13.1 mile training run.  Still had enough energy to go with me to Games of Acadiana to volunteer. That afternoon drove to Lake Charles to watch a basketball tournament that apparently NBA players were playing in (only one I know is Penny Hardaway).

Sunday drove to Chicot State Park and rode bikes.  Was nice but way too hot and way too humid.  Thankfully gave us an excuse to stop by and see some family in the area.

Found out that DH got picked in the Houston Marathon lottery. He'll be running on January 30th.

  • Ours was busy, but good.  Friday we did yardwork, then Saturday my parents came up to take care of Elise while I made her cake for her party.  Then my brother and his family showed up for the party, they had the wrong day.  So that kind of threw a wrench in my decorating plans, but we had a nice time visiting with them.  And it worked out for the best because they would not have been able to come up on Sunday.

Sunday we had her party, we had a huge turnout and it was exhausting, we were all asleep for 9 last night!  She had a great time though!
