Essential Oils

I've been dabbling in using essential oils more often in the home, in our laundry, in vinegar for cleaning, in this aromatheraphy thing that disperses the scent throughout the room, in the bath, for relaxation with my dog, and other things too.  Im actually going to take a class a local yoga studio is offering towards the end of the month on how to use them even more and what oil is for what.

Since I've been paying attention to where I can find the oils in the regualr places I shop I've realized how expensive they are and how their prices vary from oil to oil, I cant imagine paying so much for such a little amount, even if a little goes a long way.

Does anyone have a place they shop that semi big box that I might be able to check out, or a website that has decent prices on oils?

TIA Smile

Re: Essential Oils

  • I'm not sure about where to find them cheaply, but just wanted to emphasize that a little does go a LONG way. In a 32 oz water/vinegar spray bottle we use about 3-4 drops of essential oil to give it scent through the air when we spray or clean with it.
  • We use Moutain Rose Herbs:

The majority of their EO are certified organic, the rest are grown without chemicals.  A big selection and good prices, plus they have great customer service.

  • Thanks for the site and info!

I know a little goes a long way, but $15+ for an ounce or so is just crazy to me.  I blame my cheap mother Smile

  • i use Young Living for things i'd use for medicinal uses

i use the cheapest of the cheap at the local drugstore for aromatherapy

Check out Grapefruit Seed Extract for cleaning. It's a powerful antibiotic and it's also awesome for cleaning. One or two drops in warm water disinfects your house.  The bottle literally lasts forever, i think it was 10 bucks and ii've been using it for 4 years. I buy Nutribiotic
