I am having an afternoon bridal shower. I know having it in the mid afternoon I don't have to have a full meal but I would like to serve heavy appetizers. Please help me with my menu. Fruit kabobs with dip, Chicken salad (bread or phyllo cups?) , Ham and cheese rolls (the one with the poppy seed dressing), veggies, cupcakes, and cheesecake. What do I need or what should I change?
Re: Afternoon bridal shower
I'm hosting a 2:00 p.m. shower and ran into the same dilema. I'm focusing on small bites, a few savory items, and more desserts, as I assume most will have had lunch. Here's my menu, maybe it will help:
Cocktails:
? MimosaBar ? Strawberry, Pineapple, & Blackberry
? Lemonade
? Water
Savory:
? Mixed Mushroom Puffs
? Tomato Tarts with Basil Garlic Crust
? Crudit?sPlatter with Herbed Ricotta Dip
? CheesePlate (Blue, Parmesan, Cheddar) with Water table Crackers
? Mini Lobster Rolls
? RoastedChicken Caesar Salad on Endive Leaves
? Brie, Honey, and Walnut Bites
Sweet:
? Pineapple Angel Food Cupcakes
? Cherry Hand Pies
? FruitSkewers with Marshmallow Dip
? Vanilla Bean Whoopie Pies withSalted Carmel Filling
? Tiramisu?Shots? with Lady Finger Dippers
? Dark Chocolate Madeleines
? MonogramSugar Cookies
I am not sure how many people are coming to your event.
I would also consider adding a pasta salad or potato salad to serve with the chicken salad and ham and cheese rolls.
