Planner or Go w/ the Flow

Are you a planner, or do you tend to go with the flow?

I am a planner, the husband is not.

He's says why do you have to everything thought out (trips/meals/days/weeks, etc)?

My reply is usually something along the lines of without planning we both sit around, and ask "What do you want to do", "I don't know, what would you like to do"...but, If I had time to PLAN something, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. (Like figuring out movie times, free events in the area, happy hours, laundry schedule, what were having for dinner).

So, are you a planer - or go with the flow.  (OR, am I just OCD, crazy lady?)

Re: Planner or Go w/ the Flow

  • We're the same as you guys. I'm the planner, he's go with the flow. I've mellowed out a bit in the last decade or so being with him, but I still need plans.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • We are both go with the flow type people...almost to a fault.  It's hard for us to make decisions and we rarely plan ahead!
  • It depends on what we are planning. I will plan out our schedule (ie - dinner will be around 6) but he gets more concerned about what we will have for dinner.  I won't worry about the details of what we have until about 5:30.  I definitely create most of the to-do lists in our house though.

  • I'm definitely the planner... it drives DH crazy that I have to have a plan for everything and it drives me crazy that he's always figuring out the details at the last minute becuase he didnt make plans.
  • We're a bit of both.

In terms of the big things (finances, babies, homes), we are planners. We make lists, we set timelines, we over research-- typical Type A stuff.

For everything else, we fly by the seat of our pants. Case in point: we just booked our 10th anniversary trip yesterday. We leave in 3 days.

I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

  • BTW, I have the song Go With the Flow stuck in my head and it's been there since I first saw this thread.

  • I'm a planner EXCEPT when it comes to meals and things like weekend plans and events.
