Shampoo Recs?

Something other than Gudonya?  I've been using Gudonya for a couple of months now, and I love the way my hair looks, feels and behaves, but I'm having issues with the consistency.  I have really thick, nearly waist-length hair, and I can't for the life of me get this stuff to spread through all of my scalp - let alone the rest of my hair - without using a giant handful every time.  Anyone have other recs? Or tips for making the Gudonya more user-friendly, please?

  • The person who cuts my hair recommended this for me

but I have yet to try it because it's pricey.

  • I wrote about the ones that I've tried here. Gudonya is on the list, but there are others. I have really thick hair, too, and I while I am still searching for the perfect shampoo, some of these are pretty good.

    Good luck!!!

I like this.  Next to Gudonya, it's my favorite.  I bought the lavendar.

Alba Botanicals was pretty nice, too.  I thought it smelled like Runts candy.  Yum.

Yes to Carrots made my hair really oily so I stopped using it, but I just started again because I hate for it to go to waste and it seems to be working well.  It's smell kind of reminds me of Play-do, though, which isn't a plus in my book

As for the Gudonya, I always smear it across my scalp as best as I can, duck my head back under the shower head for a split second, and then lather it through the rest of my hair.

  • Thanks for the recs - I'll have to check some of these out.

Lisa - your post made me laugh b/c your description of your hair is pretty much how I feel about mine. :-)

Beloved - I do the same with the Gudonya.  I just feel like in general it's added too much time to my shower just trying to spread it around to get my hair "clean enough".  And I have to use so much to cover just the roots of my hair that I need to order a new shampoo every month - and I don't even wash my hair every day. :-/

  • I am currently using all Devaconcepts products now too. I just found a salon near me that is certified Deva curl so I get the Deva curly cut and use all the products. My hair has never been curlier and I am pretty sure that the products, although expensive, are EF!
