Hydrangea question

We're considering replacing a couple of shrubs with hydrangeas, and my mom has two huge ones.  Is it possible to split hydrangeas, or are we better off just buying new ones?

Re: Hydrangea question

  • You need to buy new ones.

  • You can propagate a new plant with the old plant. It will take a bit of time to get it shrub-sized, but it's pretty simple! Look it up on google.

I'd buy healthy, big, NEW ones. Instant gratification.

  • Buy a new one. I tried to propagate a hydrangea once and it didn't work at all.
