Recommendation for....

Wedding Shower Games! Hi, I just found out i was nominated to do the shower games for my sister-in-law's wedding shower. I am really not into these types of games so i really dont have any good ideas. But i would like to have 2-3 games for her big day.

The shower is at a bar/restaurant and its a mixed group of ages (family and friends). Does anyone have any cute ideas to share with me? i looked on the knot and was not impressed at all...

TIA!

Re: Recommendation for....

  • For the location and the age group, I would do games that everyone can play in their seat. I'd recommend:

Bridal Gift Bingo -- Make bingo cards (or buy them at Michaels or a similar craft/hobby store) with gift items that are on the bride's registry or are generic/standard shower gifts (towels, sheets, baking pans, etc.). This game is great because it gives everyone something to do while the bride is opening gifts.

Marriage Advice -- Have everyone write (anonymously) a bit of advice on 3x5 note cards. Take the cards back, shuffle them, and pass them out again. Have everyone read the card out loud that is passed back to them. The bride gets to keep the cards. If you want to make it more "game-y," you can have everyone vote on which the best piece of advice was.

Wordsearch or Match Game -- Either one can be done on a decorative worksheet that you make on your computer. You can do a wordsearch or crossword puzzle with wedding words. OR (my friends' did this for me at my shower) you can do a matching game of famous couples -- Romeo + Juliet, Scarlett O'Hara + Rhett Butler, JFK + Jackie O, etc.

  • at my bridal shower, they played a game where they asked DH 20 random questions beforehand without my knowledge (shoe size, dream car, fav color, fav food...) and then for every wrong answer that I got, I had to chew a piece of bazooka bubblegum.  i had 8 pieces in my mouth by the time it was done, but it was different and fun!
  • These sound interesting and fun. I went to a shower where we each had a piece of paper and had to draw what we thought the brides dress look liked. It was funny to see the pictures

I did this for my BFF and it was hilarious!!!! The answers her DH gave were great, and she had so much gum in her mouth by the time it was over! Great idea!

  • A fast and fun one is celebrity marriages.  whoever gets the most correct wins
