We planted a variety of herbs in a large pot last year. Life got busy and it was kind of forgotten.

The plants eventually appeared to die so the pot got pushed aside and left until this year. It sat outside all winter and was covered in about 3' of snow for a few months. DH noticed a few weeks ago that there is a large healthy basil plant growing in the forgotten pot! I didn't realize it came back like that. Maybe we should stop ignoring that pot and actually tend to our poor forgotten basil. :-)

Re: Basil = perennial?
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

Ours went to seed but didnt live - more than likely it was due to this and not the plant itself.
I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
It's kind of handy that we do have basil even though we hadn't planned on it. :-)
