Okay, I'm kinda glad I went through with it.

If I were to decided to work full time it is a job I'd def be very, very interested in.  Is it wrong that I kind of hope they call me next week??

Ugh, I feel so bad leaving D though.

  • Honestly, if you really want to work full-time, you should go for it.  I feel like when I'm a mom, I'll love that so much but I'll need to have my own life and identity besides being "_________'s mom."  Especially if I'm actually in a job I really love when I get pregnant and have the babies.

  • Chances are if you really don't want to work FT and don't need to, I bet the job just wouldn't be enjoyable in the long run. You will be thinking about D all the time and probably not last long.

Why do you want to work if you don't have to? Are you missing adult talk? It seems like are are busy doing the mom's group stuff?

I went through a stage a bit ago and started casually looking for a job. I got over it though .. haha. I know someday I'll return to work but I refuse to go back into retail management so I'm not sure what I want to do. I did get some info. from Owens the other day but I'm too old to go back to school. :o)

You are not too old to go back to school....There are lots of non-traditional students out there now.

  • I think you should go for it. I know you would miss D and all, but you need to do something for you too. Everything you do is going to benefit him. You'll be able to send him to great schools and camps, and provide him with the best opportunities you can. What would hurt to try, you might love it.

I know I always plan to work whenever we have kids. I think it's important that you be a strong, professional woman so that your son can see what you've accomplished and be proud of you. Plus earning more for retirement never hurts.

  • I've actually been considering going back to work a lot lately.  While I enjoy staying at home, I'm also tired of talking with other mommy friends about baby crap.  Diapers, food, poop, sleep times, etc....  While I love my playdates at the park, I can only take so much of being THAT  stay at home mom.  I never in a million years thought I'd crave work as much as I do.  I always thought I was destined to only be a stay at home mom, funny how when you think that is all you want you really don't.

While we are totally fine financially and do not exactly need another paycheck.  If I had a job we could sell our house and buy our dream home, we could go on vacations, we could save way more money, we could plan for retirement, we could have a fabulous college fund for Davis.

If the right opportunity comes up and it is offered to me I really don't think I'd say no.  Jobs are hard to come by and while my original plan was to wait until Davis was 3 to go back I might bite on something now.  That great job might not be there in another year.

  • So my curious mind wants to know:  What is this job (not wanting to know place or anything...but what kind of job)?
