Project Runway

Anyone want to talk about it?

Re: Project Runway

  • I watched it.  I think this is the bitchiest season ever.  Or maybe it's just that the extra half hour allows them to show just how catty everyone is.  I felt bad for the winner, when nobody was especially excited for him at all.

I felt bad for 2 seconds, but then I didn't because I thought his dress was le pew.  It looks like something I wore to the homecoming dance in 1997.  Huh?

I loved how they kept calling whatsherface's outfit the "Triple Panty".  Hah. That whole ensemble (spoken with a French accent) was pretty terrible.

Those hats were insane.  I wonder how much one costs?

I thought the bright magenta outfit should have one and he didn't even make the top 3!

  • I did feel bad for the winner, even thought I didn't love this dress.  Because they all raved about it, I wondered if it was something that looked amazing in person but just didn't translate on camera.

I wished they could have sent two people home.  Those shorts were awful.

And I definitely think there was some great stuff that wasn't in the top.  When the started calling names I was all kind of confused.  My favorite was this one by far:

But I also like the second place design.  I was just not in sync with the judges this week, except about the bottom.  She needed to go.  I could have made that.

  • It was also hard to like any of them too much with the hideous hats.  Seriously, when Tim Gunn says styling is important...

  • I do not get the judges this season (or last) at all.  I thought that the winner's dress was pretty but "one we've seen a thousand times before."  I loved the gray floral jacket thing and thought is totally went with the stupid hat.  I thought the hot pink and white bolero was cute, but nothing creative, and did not go with the stupid hat/mask at all.  I don't know why Peach hasn't been in the bottom every week.  I totally do not understand the judges' boners for Gretchen at all, and not only because her attitude makes me want to punch her in the face.

  • Philip Treacy freaked me out.  I was thinking of what it would be like to try and have a dinner conversation with him and it made me all uncomfortable.

I felt AWFUL for the winner when everyone was all like, meh, oh, congratulations (we all thought you sucked), even if his dress was 100% Princess Leia meets Jabba The Hutt - Treacy LOVED it.

I didn't like the rose "hat" that was smashed into Heidi's head.

I'm glad that Theresa got sent home, her sewing is horrific.

DH is in love with Gretchen even though I keep telling him what atotalcunt she is.

I was amazed at how amazed the judges all were at the ruffled/ruched orange skirt (with the corrugated cardboard top) like it was something that had never been done before in 8,000,000 summer outfits.

I'm thinkin' 1.5 hours is too much.  And I'm kind of over Nina and Michael.  This used to be one of fav shows but I'm losing the love.  :-(

    ooops, yup, Kristen.

I sort of like the addition of them all dissing each other 'behind the scenes'.  I agree that Michael and Nina are getting humdrum....
